Overview
A 5-minute walk from Higashiyama Subway Station, Guest House Ga-Jyun features free Wi-Fi at the entire property. The wooden terrace has chairs overlooking the garden. We are small house with 5 rooms. It is good for the customers who would like to share the travel tips and meet people from all over the world! Guests can choose to stay in dormitory-style rooms or in private rooms. Bathrooms and toilets are shared. Please note that the sound can travel easier as we are very old traditional Kyoto town house. A safety deposit box is provided for storing valuable belongings. The shared kitchen comes with a microwave, fridge and an electric kettle. A coin-launderette is on site and luggage storage is offered at the front desk. The property offers a free shuttle service to a public bath located a 5-minute drive away sometimes. (The public bath is closed on Fridays). On some Friday night, we have a friday party to communicate with other guests. We serve food and drinks! Enjoy chatting with people from all over the world!!! Public bath tour and Friday party can be cancelled without prior notice and they are held infrequently. A free buffet style breakfast with bread, fruits, rice, miso soup, and drinks are served at the dining room. Ga-Jyun Guest House is a 10-mimnute walk from Heian Jingu Shrine and Yasaka Shrine. Kyoto Imperial Palace is 20-minute public bus ride and Kyoto Station is a 25-minute subway ride away.

The location is perfect, and the staff super nice. Well equipped bedrooms (I stayed at the shared mixed room) and very good breakfast. I would come back for sure :)

“A perfect example of how lovely Kyoto is”
The guesthouse is located in a nice area, very close to nearby shrines, hiking trails and the main city. What I loved though was the house itself. The son-in-law to the main owner/chef, Emerson, was incredibly friendly and I enjoyed talking to him. The whole environment was very chill, was like being in your own home. They had also printed out maps for the rooms depicting lots of recommended attractions and restaurants, colour coded and with scannable QRs. The freshly cooked breakfasts each day were delicious as well. Good shower as a bonus! The dog Jiro was also so cute and makes the hostel unique.

Accessible, only twenty minutes from Kiyosumi temple or Gion area on foot. Plenty of breakfast ( free). The staffs are very friendly. I enjoyed the Ginsuiyu public bath which is about 30 minutes on foot . The best onsen in Kyoto as for the water. If you tell the owner, the guests are offered free admission.

“Lovely little Japanese guesthouse”
Lovely little Japanese guest house with a GREAT free breakfast. The owner and staff are always present. The breakfast was the best meal of the day for me. Close to bus, subway, food store and loads of local sites within walking distance.

“Wish I could’ve stayed longer but was booked out”
Comfortable, homey, many facilities and a good distance between them from rooms. Facilities are cleaned with bleach to ensure they are super clean, common area is huge, free breakfast is incredible, price is great.. staff are lovely…the list goes on and on.
