Great hostel! Sebastian is a fantastic host, and was really helpful with anything I needed. The glamping tent was really comfortable as a dorm room, and the other facilities were basic but kept really clean. There's a corner store nearby for groceries and there's also plenty of restaurants serving fresh seafood. It's easy to get to the hostel from Zihuatanejo airport on the collectivo bus, which also runs to the town of Barra de Potosi. I really enjoyed the quiet laid back vibe at Flakos Hostel and I'd definitely stay again!

We liked all the quiet and natural surroundings and activities to immerse ourselves in the local flora and fauna. . If you are a nature buff- interested in the amazing opportunities to experience sea turtles, nature sanctuary, kayaking in miles long lagoon system teeming with bird life, whale watching, walking kilometers on a fine sand beach and not seeing a sole, this is the place for you! Sebastion and Cocoa are super nice, accommodating, helpful. . . couldn't ask for better hosts!. He is a wealth of information on the area and will make arrangment for you. Rooms are super clean and comfortable. Economical digs with AC and a mini fridge on the Pacific!

“The experience at this place was truly magical, looking forward to coming back”

This place is magical; I love the vibe, and Sebastian and Samara were super helpful and nice. I work remotely, and the internet works perfectly! So, if you're looking for a cool place to stay and chill or if you're a digital nomad, I 100% recommend this place. I stayed one night in the glampings because I was alone, and the experience was really fun! You can hear the ocean and the nature, which is quite relaxing and enjoyable. Later, a friend joined me, and we stayed in the bungalows, which are really beautiful! I slept like a baby. Also, the area is beautiful; you have the beach a 1-minute walk away and a store where you can buy anything. If you stay here, make sure not to miss the sunsets and watching the stars! Lastly, a 45-minute walk or a 5-minute drive will take you to Potosí to surf or kayak in Laguna de Potosí while enjoying birdwatching.

What a gem this place is! So happy to have found Hostel Flakos as I had just the BEST stay there! Sebastian and Samara (and the rest of their staff) are so warm and welcoming, I felt like I was staying with friends and family :) The glamping tents were beautiful to stay in, although a bit hot during the day (during which time we wanted to be at the beach or hanging out in the chill out area surrounded by plants, flowers and hummingbirds anyways!), it was the perfect temperature at night and loved being able to hear the ocean. As a traveller on a budget, I was thrilled to find an afforable option that allowed me to be so close to the beach, as well as immersed in the community. It was extra special to stay at Hostel Flakos as they work closely with the sea turtle conservation down the street, so we were able to help release the baby sea turtles :) Sebastian and Samara also organized a bonfire for the guests, and were very helpful with suggestions for food and activites in the area (just very helpful over all in fact!) I cannot express enough how happy I was with my stay here, and will be making return trips to Playa Blanco so that I can stay at beautiful Flakos again :)

All the details of comfort have been thought about. The quality of the glamping tents are premium. The constructed bathrooms are well built and the chill zone are very relaxing.

Sebastian and Samira were excellent hosts. Friendly, welcoming, accommodating with a wealth of knowledge of the area. We even had a trivia night. Beds were comfortable and are well spaced in the 4 bed dorm area with fans and electric outlets. The bathroom and shower were private and well kept. I would highly recommend staying here! The store and beach are less than 5 minutes away and you can catch a collectivo bus from Zihautanejo or Barra de Potosi for less than 20 pesos. Cinnamon was my home away from home dog. I will be back next year. Thanks.
