The location is very convenient for people wanting to visit the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. The hotel is only 500 metres away from the west gate. It’s surrounded by mountains and very secluded - perfect for a peaceful retreat. The hosts, especially, were exceptionally helpful and super nice. They communicated with us in English smoothly and helped us plan everything. They tried to solve any issues we faced and prepared us for any problems we might face later on. Would go back just because of their hospitality.

“Wonderful Stay at Whispering Mountains Boutique Hotel”

Location: fantastic, very near West Gate of Zhangjiajie national forest park. Not crowded with tourists. Rural setting. Waking up to cockerels crowing is so refreshing. Our days started with fewer crowds and not much queueing for bus shuttles. Room: very compact design with just enough space for a couple. Shower was excellent, everything was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Balcony with a view of the mountains. Outdoor and indoor slippers, bottled water provided. Much appreciated! Staff: exceptionally helpful, efficient, courteous & warm staff from reception to cooking/cleaning staff, driver. English speaking guys who checked weather & suggested routes to do at the Forest park, how long to walk, which areas are a must see, which routes had fewer crowds & which had many steps to access. We managed to do all the suggested routes to stunning view points without tiring ourselves out! The 3 minute car shuttles to drop & pick us up to & from West Gate everyday were an excellent bonus. Facilities : washing machine & air heated dryer were very useful. A recreational area for rainy day activities like table tennis, snooker, mini bouncy castle was also a fun extra. Very clean swimming pool. Meals: simple American breakfast and Chinese cuisine for breakfast/dinner. Food all very fresh and tasty. Preorder dinner and it was served piping hot at requested time. We had a wonderful 2 days visiting the park and it was all thanks to our comfortable stay at Whispering Mountains Boutique Hotel and the exceptional efforts of the staff to look after us and make our trips into the forest park stress free. Highly recommend!

“Amazing”

This stay was our best yet. The staff were just incredible, so helpful and kind. They went out of their way to help us with what to do each day in the park, where to go, our luggage - everything! It was perfect location for the park. The food was delicious, the room was spacious and clean. We even managed to arrange a massage during our stay. Genuinely could not fault the service we received, and all with a friendly smile and fantastic English!

We really enjoyed our time at whispering boutique hotel! The staff is super friendly and helpful, the rooms are peaceful and nice, and the western breakfast they serve is delicious. Also for dinner they have a lot of options. Good atmosphere and would highly recommend!

“Perfect hotel for 3/4 days visiting the amazing national park . and Lucas & team top notch .”

Great location , close to the West Gate of the park . Easy to get in and access all areas with no queues. Lucas and his team are amazing, sorting out tickets , daily advice on weather and best routes for each day , drop off at the gate every morning, although it is only a 10 minute walk. Chose duplex room which gave us a repacking space for our 4 nights . Great meals every evening and were very accommodating to my gluten intolerance. Can’t recommend it enough .

The location of this hotel is exceptional if you are planning to visit the national forest park of Zhangjiajie. The room was very good size, tidy and clean. Breakfast was good enough and we enjoyed the dinner as well. The owner was very helpful as we had an issue with our tickets and he helped us to resolve it. No doubt, If I will come back, I will book it again.

Everything about our trip was incredible. Lucas and his friends and family looked after us so well. They guided us through the park, arranged everything, cooked fresh, local food, and probably make the best coffee in Hunan province.

I just spent a few days at the Whispering Mountains Boutique Hotel in Zhangjiajie, and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my entire trip to China! The location is simply perfect: the hotel is nestled in untouched nature, in a peaceful and quiet valley, and best of all, it’s super close to the West Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (just a few minutes on foot, or the staff will kindly give you a lift). Waking up surrounded by mountains and lush greenery is a soul-reviving feeling. But the real star of this place is Lucas: incredibly kind, super helpful, and always ready to assist with anything! He organized our park tickets for us, explained the best routes, gave priceless tips, and replied to every message in no time. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does and wants his guests to experience Zhangjiajie at its best. The rooms are clean, cozy, and welcoming. But what impressed me the most was the food: genuine, flavorful, and made with heart. Every meal felt like it nourished not just the body, but the soul too. If you’re looking for an authentic spot, far from the tourist crowds, immersed in nature, with warm and human service… this is your hotel. I’ll definitely be back!

Everything is perfect in relation to the National Park visit. If you want to be close to nature, quiet, and focus on the beauty of the natural park - this is the place for you. The host Lucas went above and beyond to make sure I had a good stay here.

Beyond 5 stars is our rating for Whispering Mountain Boutique Hotel. Would highly recommend to anyone planning a DIY style Zhangjiajie National Park visit. An easy 400m walk from the West Gate (with less crowds!) and a host, Lucas, who delivers amazing hospitality and customer service and speaks fluent English to boot. He booked our park tickets, organised transfers to and from the hotel, customised each day’s itinerary in detail factoring in weather/fog conditions, offered to ferry us to the West Gate (we walked - mostly 😁). The rooms feel new with mountain views, clean and of a good size and food served is really delicious! He even went out of his way to still organise our tickets and each day’s activation after we have already left his hotel and moved to Wulingyuan side. Beyond 5 stars standard! So grateful for his incredibly thoughtful customer service. #customerservicelegend!

I had an amazing stay at Whispering Mountain! The hotel is located near the west entrance of Zhangjiajie National Park, in a peaceful, rural area that’s perfect for relaxing after exploring the park. The rooms are very comfortable, and both breakfast and dinner offer great options. The real highlight is the staff — especially Lucas, who was absolutely fantastic! He helped me organize my whole trip: planning daily itineraries, suggesting things to do based on weather and distances, and even booking tickets for the main attractions. Thanks to him, my experience was much smoother, easier, and more enjoyable than I expected. Highly recommended!

“Wonderful hotel with great services provided by staff and is close to west entrance of Zhangjiajie”

Free upgrade to the suite, welcoming staffs providing excellent services to help us in our trip. Hotel staff also checked in with us in the evening upon noticing that we hadn’t returned to hotel. The food were nice too
