“Ok place to stay, if nothing fancy”

Central location and easy to move to and from by car when exploring the lower Engadine, National Park, Val Mustair. Liked the proximity to the National Park Centre which is highly recommended! Hotel and restaurant are somewhat average and could use an upgrade here and there but everything worked and it was clean, beds were comfortable and breakfast was good.

We had a very nice stay. The hotel is in a beautiful location on the edge of town, our room looked out across the valley and we sat and watched the trains coming and going in the distance. The hotel is slightly older in terms of decor but it makes a change from the modern identikit chain hotels. The restaurant is brilliant and serves a full breakfast with good variety of foods and the evening meals were similarly hearty. The staff are attentive and the menu offers a good variety of food, including of course the pizzas cooked to order in the pizza oven, There was plenty of free parking. Zernez is a very good location for exploring the region, it's not far over to the Stelvio Pass and there are various castles around the area.

Staff at dinner was very unfriendly, both treating us shortly and serving everyone else first, even those that came long after us.

Wonderful breakfast and quiet location. It’s a 3 minute walk to the bus stop for the national park.

The hotel is a great location with nice scenery surrounding. Our hosts were very friendly and the meals in the hotel were very nice. We only had a one night stay as we were passing through but really enjoyed our stay.

Exceptional place for those who want to visit the National Park. You also feel very comfortable with staff that are very nice and listen. The modern rooms are large enough and well equipped. Bus stop is 200 meters from the hotel and will bring you to the National Park. Finally the restaurant offers a large variety of food of excellent quality. I strongly recommend.

“Older style but clean with comfortable bed”

Comfortable bed, good views, good breakfast. Enjoyed speaking a mishmash of four languages with the staff. Delicious pizza! On the edge of town, but I didn't mind the short walk and appreciated the free hotel carpark. I didn't realise (and neither did some locals!) that the national park is closed in winter until late May and you can't go on any trails. Nonetheless Zernez is a good base to explore the area, eg the easy to reach Morteratsch glacier near St Moritz and spas in Scuol. Be sure to have the grilled skewers at Bar 47, amazing!
