Overview
Fully renovated in summer 2021 and situated in peaceful surroundings on the edge of Zermatt, the chalet-style 4-star superior Matthiol Boutique Hotel features exclusive wellness facilities and a 10% discount on ski rental. Free transfers from the Zermatt Train Station are offered. The wellness area includes a herbal sauna, a steam bath, and a Finnish sauna, and can be used free of charge. The fitness room is also available at no extra cost. All rooms in the Matthiol Hotel have free WiFi access, life TV Streaming and coffee machine. Most also feature a balcony with views of the Matterhorn or Gornergrat. The trendy restaurant serves Swiss and international cuisine, with locally and nationally sourced ingredients, prepared from scratch. In the winter time, cheese fondue is served in outside huts. Breakfast consist of buffet and hot items to order. Zermatt is a car-free resort, and the hotel offers a free pick-up service from Zermatt Train Station or the taxi rank between 08:00 and 21:00 on the day or arrival and departure. The nearest bus stop is just a 2-minute walk away, and local buses can be used free of charge with the ski pass. With good snow condition, the hotel can be reached by ski from Furi and in the morning ski-out is possible from the hotel depending on snow cover and conditions.

This was the best place in Zermatt for me to stay! Beautiful and comfortable, amazing food and excellent staff ready to help and talk. They picked us up near the station for free, and when we left to Matterhorn last day - they delivered luggage to us to the train station. The road on foot to the center takes near 10-15 min, and it’s a beautiful road! Highly recommend!

We enjoyed a wonderful time at Matthiol. The breakfast buffet is exceptional and fueled us with the needed energy for a head start into our skiing days. We also valued the uncomplicated refreshment service on our departure day, as well as the timely and uncomplicated taxi shuttle to and from the train station which gave us peace of mind with our luggage. We will be back!

“Beautiful Zermatt Hotel”
Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. We were collected from the railway station and taken to the hotel and given a welcome drink. The staff were very friendly, helpful and informative. Everything is immaculately clean and well cared for. Super restaurant with plenty to eat at breakfast. My favourite meal was the cheese and meat fondue evening in the little wooden huts outside. We had the but to ourselves and it was lovely.

“nice, quiet and comfortable accommodation”
what i liked most in this hotel is a room with sauna and steam bath right in the bathroom. we travel with our 3yo son, that still naps at noon. and it was such a pleasant extra to have during his nap, since one of the parents has to stay in the room and can't go to spa meanwhile. the staff was very nice and after the first breakfast they remembered the table we liked, so after that they sat it every morning for us with a high chair for the kid even before our arrival. that was a very sweet detail. breakfast was nice, had a little bit of everything. also enjoyed a lot their house cocktail (it was a spritz, if im remembering well) beside the hotel there were some snow fields with a few slightly inclined areas for a toddler to enjoy the sleigh, which hotel kindly provides. there are also big sleigh runs to do in the surroundings, but that just wasn't suiting us

I had a skiing accident during my stay and the staff at the hotel could not have been more kind, patient and helpful. Also the view from my room, on top of the facilities, including the mini spa in the room itself were just perfect

“Super helpful staff and amazing facilities”
My room was exceptional with large balcony and views of the Matterhorn. I also had a private sauna and steam which could not have worked better as I had an accident skiing and my recovery was greatly helped by these facilities. The staff were above and beyond

“loved every minute”
The room was excellent with comfortable beds and a good size with space for everything. We enjoyed our breakfast everyday and the evening a la carte menu was delicious , I used the fitness room it was ample and great quality equiptment , there were lovely winter hiking routes from the door of the hotel too. The hotel is about 1.8km out of the main town we liked being away from the crowd
