“Great Ski Vacation - Thanks NZ!!”

Lovely hotel and just the right size for a long ski vacation. Wonderful and helpful staff. Lovely breakfast every day with made to order and buffet choices... dinner offerings are also excellent. The room had an amazing Matterhorn view! Nice spa and pool to relax. Right across the street from Sunnegga funicular. Great place for a 2-week skiing vacation!! Definitely would return, probably next year with family.

“Perfection!”

Beautiful hotel building in traditional alpine style kept meticulously clean. The location do close to the slopes was very important for this family of keen skiers. The family spa facilities at the end of the day were the icing on the cake along with the delicious food served at each mealtime. A massive thank you to Sean and the whole team for making our stay truly memorable.

Nice wood scent when walking in with newly renovated room. The free transfer from/to the train station saved us lots of effort carrying our luggage. Just a 2 minutes walk to Sunnegga station if you plan to ski there. And I like to see the train going up to Gornergrat passing by the balcony, with the Matterhorn the view was amazing.

Fantastic room with view over the Matterhorn, spa area and staff. All the facilities were great and the staff was very lovely! The location was also fantastic!

The condition of the house was extremely poor and completely unacceptable. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed several issues that made it impossible for us to stay. In fact, we left the property in less than an hour due to how uncomfortable and uninhabitable it was. We had originally booked the house for three nights, but unfortunately, we could not spend even one night there. Despite reaching out to the owner multiple times to report the problems, we received no response or support whatsoever. This lack of communication and accountability made the experience even more frustrating and disappointing.

Good selection of breakfast, the rooms were spacious and comfortable for a family stay, and it was a great location with everything within a walkable distance.

Everything about this place is above and beyond amazing especially the staff, so so friendly and helpful, we travelled all through Europe the months before, and this place was so relaxing and peacefull we didnt want to leave.

In early July, we visited Zermatt and stayed at the Hotel National Zermatt for five days. The hotel has an excellent, central yet quiet location, very close to the train station, the Gornergrat Railway, the Sunnegga station, and the bus stop. We had a room with the Matterhorn view. From the balcony we saw beautiful sunrises on the Matterhorn several times. The Gornergrat Railway tracks run just beyond the hotel garden, but the trains didn't bother us because they're quiet and don't run at night. There's one older train that squeals on a curve, but it was more of a curiosity than a nuisance. We learned about it from residents of another part of the hotel and tried to catch a glimpse of it, but we weren't successful. The hotel is a medium-sized property, with large rooms and ample storage space. The beds are comfortable and soft, with a large TV opposite. A nice touch was the bed linen folded into a heart shape every day. The bathroom is well-equipped and large enough for two people. The cleanliness of the rooms and the entire facility deserves special mention. The dining room is spacious, nicely decorated, with soft chairs and seats, and overlooks the garden. The breakfast buffet is varied enough to satisfy the appetite before heading out on excursions. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful in every way. It was a very pleasant stay. Thank you!
