The staff were incredibly friendly, both at the front desk and in the restaurant. The hotel facilities were clean and tidy. A huge thanks to the hotel for arranging a balcony room for us—it gave us a truly unique and spectacular view of the Matterhorn. Breakfast and dinner were both great.

Location, view, right on the slopes

The most incredible location and views in Zermatt. What a privilege to stay overnight and enjoy the Matterhorn and the Mischabel mountains in all their changing glory

Obvs it's the mindblowing views Sunsets and sunrises you will never forget Try and stay on a Thursday and you get an extra special bonus to spend time in the Gornergrat observatory. We were lucky enough to see jupiter and it's moon, a nebula with new stars forming and lunar Mare. We also had a visit from some Alpine Ibex. The food was delicious, the rooms very comfortable and staff lovely. It's a very special place. If you get a chance to stay you won't regret it. We stayed 3 nights I could have stayed longer.

Amazing views of the tops of snow covered mountains, nothing else to see, very peaceful. We also had an impromtu visit to the observatory, which was incredible, the technical director was so knowledgable and skilled at informing and entertaining the group in fluent german and english. This was a very special tour.

We own a spectacular view of Matternhorn and enjoy environment. The staff and dinner/breakfast was good. It has been almost 30 years since my last stay here. The quality of this stay was much better than the last one.

The location is quite good, especially without much light. We saw galaxy at night.

You couldn’t get a better view than the one from our room - it was awesome! The room itself was lovely, very comfortable bed, good shower and stocked mini bar. The only reason to stay here is the view and tranquility - we had both in abundance. Breakfast was good.

If the weather is great, it’s worth staying at this hotel. But you can never predict the weather during your stay, so it’s kind of a gamble. We were lucky and got to see a wonderful sunset, beautiful stars, and an amazing sunrise.

This is a hotel that you book when you want a unique experience and it certainly lives up to that!!! I only did one night which i think is plenty, if youre not used to high altitudes then recommend doing a couple nights in Zermatt first or take some tablets as you can feel abit rough if not adjusted. I like the half bored food option as you realise if it wasnt included there really are few places to go u less you're on a hike. Room had a brilliant view of the Matterhorn and I stayed in a fairly modest room option. Me and my girlfriend went star gazing at night outside and it was stunning! The staff ( receptionist in particular was really kind ).

“Once in a lifetime experience”

Just wow. The views from around the hotel and from our windows were exceptional. The beds were comfortable. The room was a little warm and we needed to keep the windows open. It was quiet and serene. The dining room staff were exceptionally attentive and helpful in keeping me safe with my food allergies. Breakfast was great. Be aware though that at such a high altitude we were all a l8ttle short of breath with minimal exertion.would have loved to buy some souvenirs of our experience but all the shops were closed for renovations. Also no shops to buy food or snacks on the mountain. Come prepared if you don't have dinner included.
