Overview
Only a 5-minute walk from the Yamagata Zao Onsen Ski Resort, Omiya Ryokan features Japanese-style rooms, hot spring baths and massage treatments. The hotel offers Japanese dining and ski storage facilities. Rooms at Japanese-style hotel Omiya feature a decor of tatami-mat (woven straw) flooring and futon bedding, with retro elements. They are fitted with a TV, a mini-fridge, a washstand and en suite toilet. Bathroom facilities are shared. Guests can leisurely unwind in two public hot spring baths indoors and an open-air one. They can stroll around in the Ryokan’s yukata robes and traditional wooden sandals. Facilities include a souvenir shop and drinks vending machines. A Japanese breakfast and a multi-course dinner with local dishes can be experienced in the dining room, which features Western-style furniture in a Japanese-style setting. Ryokan Omiya is a 30-minute drive from ski area Zao Liza World. The hotel offers a free shuttle from the Zao Onsen Bus Terminal, a 5-minute walk away.

Everything was perfect and passed expectations. Highlights: food, Onsen, near ski slopes, near bus station, has ski equipment storage, very clean. The staff was amazing, very polite and friendly.

A nice, cozy ryokan with a free shuttle to and from Yamagata Station. We appreciated being able to choose the 1pm shuttle on check-out day, which gave us enough time to explore Zao Mountain and even enjoy lunch before leaving. The ryokan is clean, with tatami mats covering the entire floor, and the food is delicious as well!

Our stay was exceptional! Everything was spotless and perfectly maintained, with great attention to detail. The room was beautiful and had every comfort we could need. The food was absolutely delicious, both dinner and breakfast were a real highlight of our stay. The staff were truly outstanding: kind, professional, and always attentive. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

The food was amazing, breakfast and diner! I could eat like that everyday. The bed was very confortable. The hotel itself is a beautiful ryokan and I really loved walking through it to go to the onsen and the restaurant.
