Traditional experience in lovely warm welcoming family stay environment

Traditional ryokan, lovely room, comfortable futon sleeping, quiet. In house onsen bath was great. The ryokan is very close to the three public obsess, very hot, and to ski field access. Great hosts, so welcoming, and went the extra mile. Delicious breakfast and we had an evening meal too which was wonderful.

The location and food

Fantastic location near the bus terminal and reasonable distance to gondola. Onsite bath is a convenient touch, though we were told it's not an actual onsen. You can buy discounted tickets for the tree natural onsens in town. One is barely a 10 second walk from down. Great drying room with really thoughtful access from street. This Ryokan is also on one of the main streets with plenty of restaurants.

Very kind and thoughtful owners who provided a different vegetarian breakfast every morning. Very clean and large room. Great drying room for ski gear. Good location for Chao Ropeway and bus station. Also not too far to Best Rental, very good (and cheap) hire place near Jupeer.

Our room had a view of the public osen which was nicely lit up at nice. The steam film the hot springs contrasted nicely with the snow. Very friendly and hospitable family. Felt well taken care of. They even came out in the biting cold to clear the snow from our car.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Great location and easy walk to the bus station. The room was large, spotlessly clean and had good facilities. The futon beds were really comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.

The place is so cute, especially the staff. Keep in mind that you are in more rural parts of Japan so alot of people do not speak English but they tried so hard and explained everything even though I only understood like half of what they said, the staff was so lovely. Even though the structure itself is old (with squeaky floors included) the ryokan is really charming and it feels really warm. They give you so much quality food and I was left pretty stuffed at the end

Perfect family run Ryokan to stay at while skiing Zao. The tatami room was spacious and the amenities were very nice. The food provided was great too! So delicious! Highly recommended.
