Overview
Takamiya Rurikura Resort boasts ski-to-door access from Yokukura ski slope, an outdoor hot spring bath and karaoke rooms. It houses a sauna and a tennis court, while the swimming pool is open in summer. The lobby offers free Wi-Fi. Basic air-conditioned rooms come with an LCD TV, a minibar and an electric kettle. All rooms have an attached bathroom, and yukata robes and toiletries are provided. Guests at Resort Takamiya Rurikura can unwind in the public hot spring bath or sauna free of charge, or get active playing tennis, swimming or singing karaoke at a charge. The hotel offers skiing lessons and massage treatments, while facilities include lockers, drinks vending machines and free parking. A Japanese breakfast or a breakfast buffet with Japanese dishes is served in the mornings. For dinner, the Kurikura offers a traditional kaiseki multi-course dinner around a shabushabu or sukiyaki meat dish. Located right in front of Yamagata Zao Onsen Ski Resort’s Yokokura slope, Rurikura Takamiya Resort is a 1-minute walk from Zao Ropeway. Yamagata Station is a 45-minute bus ride, and a free pick-up is available from Zao Bus Terminal upon advance request.

“Overall would consider staying again”
Good that breakfast and dinner was provided. Dinner was Yamagata beef sukiyaki or shabu shabu; which was great. Family of 5 in an “extended” room where parents slept in the beds and kids on the tatami floor with mattresses in the living room

It comes with variety of breakfast and some options of hot pot for dinner! Restaurant staffs were very nice :) the hotel has onsen so after ski/snowboarding, it was a perfect place to stay!

Was better than I expected. Room was clean, staff were nice, and location was right in front of ski lift - also was very close to a ski/snowboard rental store. The breakfast and dinner was delicious, we had something different for dinner everyday.

“Fantastic stay and Zao onsen ski field was great.”
We arrived early and they were able to provide us with name checkin and left luggage. We were then able to Ski that day! Bonus! Very easy! Great half board with the Japanese set dinner for one night and and shabu shabu next.

“Great location in a beautiful onsen town. Well worth a visit”
Breakfast was not exceptional but okay. They provided a Japanese and Western option buffet, but a very limited choice We opted for the half board option. Dinners were very good with multiple small courses. We were able to select from a variety of options. Sunday night was the exception. It offered the Kaiseki option only

Staff are friendly and they can speak simple English. Breakfast and dinner are delicious. Room is big and provided the charge cables. Spa is good. Also, there is a big car park on the ground floor.
