Overview
Situated in the Zao Onsen hot spring area, Hotel Lucent Takamiya is just a 2-minute walk away from Zao Chuo Ropeway's Onsen Station. The property offers hot spring baths and free Wi-Fi at public areas. Rooms feature an en suite bathroom and a tatami (woven-straw) seating area with a low table and cushions. Each is fitted with Yukata robes, a green tea set and an electric kettle. A refrigerator and a TV are also available in rooms. At Takamiya Lucent Hotel, guests can soak in the indoor/outdoor hot spring baths, use the sauna or purchase souvenirs at the gift shop. Ski equipment rental, karaoke and massages are also available at a surcharge. A Japanese-style dinner featuring local ingredients and seasonal produces is served at the dining room. JR Yamagata Train Station is a 30-minute drive away, while Yamagata Zao Onsen Ski Resort is a 5-minute walk away. Zao Sarukura Ski Area is accessible within a 20-minute drive.

“Great hotel with kind and friendly staff”
From the warm welcome at the door from Kato, to the magnificent food, to the fabulous onsen and the beautiful scenery of Zao Onsen, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I would’ve extended my stay I like it so much, but it was fully booked.

“excellent”
the hotel location is so good, this is our first skiing experience, the hotel is very near to the skiing slopes, just a walking distance, we can ski there. i think this is very good for first timer. you can also get discount voucher from the hotel for skiing equipment. after we check out, the hotel allow us to leave our luggage there. staff are friendly, breakfast and lunch are good.

“Very happy about the stay!”
We have stayed for 6 nights including both breakfast and dinner, the food variety was great considering the long stay. We have different kind of dinners each night, including yonezawa beef BBQ， beef sukiyaki，pork, chicken and seafood hot pot, Steak, etc.. The indoor and outdoor Onsen help to relax after a long day ski! Staffs are very nice. The location is perfect, right opposite the main lift and about 15 mins walk to the historic Onsen street.

Great value stay with meals included and awesome natural sulphur onsen downstairs. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a reasonably priced onsen experience in a good location!

Nice traditional Japanese ryokan. Spacious room, nice and helpful staff, mountain view, and great location in Zao onsen. The downside is the hotel is so great we don’t want to go out and explore the town.

when you arrive at the station and cannot find public phone, you can contact tourist information staff to call the hotel so they will send the shuttle bus to pick you up. The location is just right in front of the Zao Chuo Ropeway and close to Lawson. The dinner and breakfast have buffet and for the dinner they arrange the local beef shabu shabu which is great.

Located between the bus terminal and Zao ropeway, very convenient. Dinner and breakfast are good. Staff are friendly and helpful.

free onsen. very close to ski rental shop and snowboarding instructor. fairly close to the ski ropes and the gondola to see the snow monster. has an equipment room to store your ski / snowboarding gears. nice authentic dinner and breakfast provided by the hotel.
