Overview
Renovated in 2017, Meitoya Sou offers a modern-style ryokan with natural hot spring baths. Free WiFi is offered and free private parking is available on site. Guests can enjoy skiing and snowboarding in the vicinity. Every room includes a TV and yukata robes. For your comfort, you will find slippers, free toiletries and a hairdryer. Gorgeous little retro onsen in the hills. The location is great if you can get a lift with the shuttle bus. My mum had broken her leg and they were accommodating for us. I had missed the reservations for the private onsen (golden week) but the staff managed to figure something out for me which saved the trip to be honest because the point of the trip was to visit an onsen!

“Bad first impression with the halfboard issue, made worse by arrogant front desk, while the rest of the experience was s”
Rooms were nice. Some of the staff (especially those working at dining) were very sweet and pleasant. A younger front desk guy was also very helpful with our Yamato delivery arrangement. They made a huge difference to our stay!

“OVerall great place with great staff.”
This is a traditional japanese inn. The service was great, the staff superfriendly/helpful(the names of staff i remember are Mr Tookairin and Melanie) and accommodating. Our stay included breakfast and dinner which were very nice and good quality., we had a different hot pot every night and one night we had Ghenghis Khan lamb. ONSEN was very nice. They also organised our luggage to be forwarded striaght to Narita airport which was helpful

“Great place for ski/spa vacation”
We really liked the property, japanese-style rooms and the onsen! The dinner menus were incredible - so many new dishes that we could try. The staff was also so friendly.

“Overal an acceptable stay, nothing fancy and not special. Quality not proportional to the amount charged.”
WiFi connection was very good and able to stream things like Netflix. Staff overall friendly Entrance of building looks nice. Onsen clean but a bit small
