Such a wonderful experience…comfortable room, fantastic food and really friendly staff. Short 20 min walk to the best snorkelling beach.

“If we are ever lucky enough to return to the Kerama Islands: we will stay at the Blue Suites on Aka.”

The Blue Suites made our visit to Aka island special. Yuna picked us up from the port when we landed, and drove us to the hotel. We had the middle cabin, which was very cosy, neat, clean and well insulated. On hot days we could take shelter indoors when we fancied a break from the sun. They supplied free snorkeling gear which was decent quality and worked well. The first night we arrived not knowing a 4 course dinner was included, my wife is vegetarian and we told them at very short notice, but they immediately changed her meals to veggie ones. We ate every night on the roof with a great view of the bay, and had a delicious breakfast every morning which changed slightly each day, and came with a choice of drinks. I had a coffee and a mango juice every morning alongside plenty of food. All of it was included in our booking.

“Beautiful place to stay”

Beautiful accommodation and beautiful people running the place, so helpful and accommodating. Rooms were great, no noise. Peaceful island. The view was amazing and so easy to go snorkling right out the front. The food served for breakfast and dinner was very filling and delicious.

Everything. Hospitality, dinner, breakfast, pool, rooftop bath, room ,location, it was all exceptional! But the food was definitely the best part. The chef was incredible. Yabai! 🔥

“Would absolutely recommend!”

We loved everything about our stay. The view was amazing. The room was big for Japanese standards. The hospitality and warmth of the staff were what suprised us the most: we arrived early and were welcomed in the kindest way. Snorkeling gear, wetsuits and towels and instructions about pretty snorkeling spots were provided free of charge. We were a bit unlucky though: bad weather and rough seas were predicted for the day we’d planned to travel back to Naha. The staff informed us that the boat would probably not run that day. This ment we had to head back to naha a day early and immediately after breakfast, which was especially sad cause we were really enjoying our stay. The staff was super friendly. They helped us exchange our boat tickets and offered to provide a refund for the day we missed without us having to ask. Having to leave early was disappointing, but our overall experience was superb. We would definitely recommend going here.

“Outstanding hospitality and design that supports deep relaxation”

This place deserves a lot of praise, so I’ll start with the staff. Everyone was incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful, so much so that, despite being guests, we felt as though we were staying in someone’s cozy and beautiful home. The atmosphere, friendliness, respect for privacy and personal space, and the warmth of casual conversations truly make this place stand out. The food was excellent. They accommodated my gluten-free and my partner’s vegetarian diet. A huge thank you to the entire team: my birthday fell during our stay, and since we didn’t know what the menu would be like, I asked, without knowing that dessert is served daily, if it might be possible to have a dessert on my birthday. They served a panna cotta topped with a candle and played a birthday song, which was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. They didn’t have to do that, and I really appreciated how natural and low-key it felt. All staff members were aware of my gluten-free requirements and informed me daily about the ingredients used. They even went as far as ordering rice bread for me, which I imagine required extra investigation and effort on their part. Coffee and tea were available every day, and there was also a daily happy hour with complimentary alcoholic beverages for those who drink. The facilities are beautiful, and this was easily one of the best soundproofed accommodations we’ve ever stayed in. The room design reflects the owner’s attention to detail, with everything arranged in a way that enhances a sense of connection to the surrounding nature. The entire place supports privacy and deep relaxation (there’s no TV, no background music, excellent soundproofing, and lovely views of the sea and hills from different floors). Bathtub at the rooftop had very tranquil nature spa vibe. Wetsuits and snorkeling gear were available and included in the price, and beach towels were also provided.

Upon arriving to Blue Suite Hanmuro, my wife and I were blown away by the location. Simply stunning. Shortly after meeting the local staff, we were given access to our room which was brilliantly well designed, superbly clean and comfortable and we were made to feel at home instantly. The care, attention and also food served was beyond our wildest dreams! Absolutely one of the best places we have ever stayed ... ever!

Absolutely loved our stay at Blue Suites Hanamuro on the Beach! The location on Aka Island is stunning – peaceful, with a beautiful beach just steps away. The accommodation is stunning with beautiful pool and tastefully designed rooms.The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel at home from the start. Their attention to detail, kindness, and willingness to help with anything we needed made a huge difference. You can truly feel the personal care they put into making each guest’s stay special. The food was another highlight of our stay. Every meal was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of local Okinawan flavors. You could tell that a lot of thought and love went into the preparation. We’re already dreaming of coming back! Highly recommended!

“Short stay but so memorable”

Amazing views and location, right by the beach. We especially loved the snorkelling ( equipment provided by hotel) and fishes were right at the shore as well as the sumptuous dinner and breakfast at our doorstep, by the pool.

“A delightful oasis of peace and relaxation on the beach.”

The property is on the water’s edge, just across a quiet public lane. There are only three rooms, of minimalist design but cosy and comfortable. Each room looks out onto a little pool that is very well maintained. Our hosts, Masashi and his wife, were delightful and could not have been more helpful or welcoming. The small staff were just as lovely. Masashi is an experienced snorkelling guide and has lots of local tips. You can also borrow snorkelling gear at no charge. Both breakfast and dinner when we stayed were Western style food and just delicious. They will serve you on your verandah or in the little dining area. Dinner was accompanied by free-flowing drinks (starting from 5.30pm for happy hour!) including a very decent Australian Shiraz and Chilean sparkling wine,, The rooms have a small fridge, hairdryer and lots of electric sockets. The bathroom has twin sinks and a shower. There is actually an open air bath for each room on the roof, where you can sit and enjoy the view whilst bathing! Boiling water for tea and coffee is available from the little reception area - no kettle in the room. All in all it was a fabulous couple of days on this quiet, beautiful island. Highly recommended.

Unique and unforgettable experience. One of a kind accommodation on an island of 230 people. It is not for those that are looking to party or nightlife with big crowds. The setting is very personal and intimate. We have no complaints. Our host went above and beyond for us and we would stay here ten times over. If you're looking for something secluded or a once in a lifetime experience, this is the place to be.
