Overview
Transformed from a 15th-century castle, this enchanting hotel has a noble past and beautiful features including a central courtyard and grand restaurant. Swim in the seasonal pool set in pretty gardens. Transport yourself back in history when you stay at the Parador Zafra which dates from 1437 and was once the home of the Dukes of Feria. The property has a majestic lounge with an open fireplace, as well as the former chapel with its Gothic-Mudéjar turret. The spectacular façade of the Parador Zafra displays 9 towers linked by robust, stone walls topped with turrets. Interiors are beautifully maintained with wrought-iron detailing, high ceilings and furnishings fit for a palace. Enjoy an exquisite meal in the elegant restaurant before relaxing with a night cap in the charming bar. The Parador de Zafra is located in the centre of the village so take a stroll through the delightful historic centre and visit the shops, authentic bars and typical restaurants. “Amazing stay in a wonderful property with so much history.”
Excellent location. We were actually travelling in our campervan and just fancied a night of luxury. We had a very cheap rate, a last minute booking. We were amazed we were able to park our camper right outside the parador (for 5 euros for 24 hours). Very nice evening meal with high quality ingredients. Priced as you would expect. Our room rate had breakfast included which was buffet style and delicious. Fresh fruit, cooked breakfast, cereal cheeses. Lovely coffee.

“A lovely parador in an interesting city”
After travelling down through Spain, it was an extreme pleasure to check in to this lovely old parador in the centre of Zafra. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and looked out onto the central courtyard. Well trained staff, super breakfast. To my mind, this hotel is shining star among the many excellent paradors which are such a great feature of the spanish tourist industry.

Location, the common areas and the friendliness of the staff. Excellent breakfast. Rooms are really well decorated, somewhat smaller than other paradores, but this is not a downside.

“Stay in the Duke’s palace!”
This hotel is lovely! It’s atmospheric but has all the conveniences you expect in this level of hotel. The courtyard is stunning. It’s an easy walk to all the beautiful places to see in Zafra. Parking is easy and convenient. We had dinner there and it was very special. We both chose local dishes (lamb which was amazing and beef cheeks which were also very good). We cannot fault our room, cannot fault this hotel at all.
