Overview
Set at an altitued of 500 metres above the sea level, at the foot of Mount Etna, Monaci delle Terre Nere is 2 km outside the town of Zafferana Etnea. A former winery surrounded by the greenery and vineywards, it offers free Wi-Fi and parking. The property extends over a surface of 25 hectares and the rooms are distributed throughout the entire area. Set either in the main historical building or immersed in the property's vineyards, the elegant rooms at this boutique property have original features such as wood-beamed ceilings or exposed stone walls. Each one has a balcony or patio with a view of the garden, sea or Mount Etna. An organic breakfast buffet is served daily. The property has over 100 species of fruit on site and produces its own vegetables, which can be enjoyed at the Locanda Nerello restaurant, open for lunch and dinner. The Monaci delle Terre Nere is 20 minutes' drive from the nearest beach and from the town of Acireale. Taormina is 35 km away and a shuttle service is available to Catania-Fontanarossa Airport, 40 minutes away by car. The property has a wine cellar of its own production, has a private helicopter landing pad. The property offers services for families.

I had an amazing stay at Relais & Chateaux Monaci Delle Terre Nere! The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great experience. 5-star service and amenities

The breakfast was excellent. The location not easy to find especially if you are there for the first time. The staff is well trained, kind and ready and eager to go the extra mile to please you. Marzia received us and she is the milk of human kindness. Fabrizio in the bar is a genius of cocktails. Sonia the massagist is first class and very experienced. Chiara in the restaurant is excellent

“A dream called Monaci delle Terre Nerre.”
This is a paradise. We enjoyed every single moment of our stay. The room was an experience itself ... the best sunrise in my life. The sound of silence, priceless. A large Wine Estate surrounded by threes and orchards with a majestic view over the sea. I will come back very soon for a longer stay. The staff was attentive, kind and professional. The best food I had in Sicily. Wonderful stay!

“Wonderful stay”
Well , it’s my third time at Monaci . I’m just in love with that place . With the tranquility, wonderful big , beautiful rooms ( I stayed at villa ) the pool with the fantastic view. The food was amazing , just no words more to say . Very good breakfast served outside , all organic. I’m highly recommend to visit a Monaci . You will love it like me

“A break in Paradise”
This place is absolutely stunning! From the setting, underneath Mount Etna, to the place itself which is immersed in vineyards and olive trees! The staff is very professional and ready to meet any of our needs. The food was great and all produced at Monaci. The villa we stayed was beautiful with amazing views, an infinity pool, very private and with a very original feature, it was built around some volcanic rock! And if that wasn’t enough, I was amazed to learn that Stanley Tucci, the actor I adore, stayed in the same villa!!! I highly recommend this place for an unforgettable experience.

The location is amazing, on the skirts of Mt. Etna, and all the facilities, from the pool to the restaurant in the old building are amazing. We were attended to in the friendliest way by the entire staff, including a private traditional Sicilian pasta making lesson; they were all great. The view is amazing, the food was outstanding, overall an unforgettable experience in all senses.
