Overview
Takanoya offers free shuttles to the ski sites at Iwahara and Yusawa Park, as well as indoor hot spring baths for both male and female guests. Its guestrooms feature traditional Japanese decor and free Wi-Fi. The property also provides ski equipment rental and storage. Fitted with tatami-mat flooring and futon bedding, the air-conditioned guestrooms all come with a TV and green tea sets. The en suite bathroom is equipped with a bathtub. Takanoya is a 10-minute bus ride from JR Echigoyuzawa Station and a 15-minute walk from Yusawa Fishing Park. Arupu no Sato Botanical Gardens is an 8-minute bus ride away. Guests can soak in the indoor hot spring baths, or relax with the free massage chair service. For recreation, guests can make ceramic at Asahigama, or visit the corn and potato fields nearby. For ease of travel, rent a bicycle at the front desk. Locally harvested ingredients and fresh water from Mt. Iiji are used to prepare the authentic Japanese meals served at Takanoya. Breakfast is available, as well as Kaiseki (Japanese dinner sets) meals upon request. A drinks vending machine is also available.

“I can recommend this traditional Japanese guest house but having your own car would ’ve made it10/10”
Breakfast was filling and varied traditional Japanese fare. The manager was helpful. He helped me book the luggage courier and showed me how to use the washing machine with a built in dryer. The location was away from eating and easy transport connections so I spent extra money on Taxis. Walking into town with ski gear in a snow storm is not ideal . Iwaparra ski resort is an easy walk away and it had piles of fresh powder snow and easy fun ski runs .
