Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely amazing. The food was delicious and beautiful. The staff were lovely. One of my top meals ever. The Hot springs were relaxing and clean. The Cypress bath in my room was an absolute bonus..

We had an exceptional stay at Goen no Mori. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a traditional onsen/ryokan experience. The food was also amazing and 100% plant-based, which makes this place a no-brainer for any vegans exploring Japan, like us. :)

“Beautiful healthy, healing hotel retreat with exceptional food.”
I loved the friendliness of the staff, and the relaxing, natural and healing ambiance of the hotel, decor, background music and facilities. The food was exceptional, and the dining hall like a temple. I was very happy here, with the consideration for harmony with nature. I loved the traditional style of the room I stayed in, with the modern facilities, and the kimono. The room had it's own private toilet and basin. The shower was in the basement with the hot spring. A local Zen temple, Shinto shrine, are within walking distance and the river park is also nearby and worth a visit. The art gallery was closed but looked interesting. I would stay here again if I come back to Japan.
