“Perfect rural ryokan stay.”

Very traditional ryokan. The staff was amazing and kind. The location was rural but there was still food. In retrospect, I would've booked the room that comes with a meal delivered to our room. But we went out and got a very great feel for the town and ate at a place that was very authentic.

An amazing experience! The public bath was great, the staff could not be friendlier and they were so helpful! The rooms and facilities was excellent! Food was also such a nice Japanese experience!

Perfect to relax, location might not be the best as it is a little bit remote

“A dreamy getaway”

It felt like a dream. We didn't know we could be this well taken care of until we stayed at Wakamatsu. From the moment we walked in, the staff made sure we were comfortable. They are hard-working, gentle and caring. The onsen was beautiful and the facilities are super well equipped, you won't be short of amenities. The properry itself transmits calm and relaxation, there is gentle music playing outside the onsen and our room was beautifully decorated and spacious. I don't have enough words to describe the dinner - it's not just that the food was fantastic and well-presented, but the service was so, so thorough and the pace of the dinner was perfect; it was refreshing to be able to take your time with each course. To top it all off, the staff saw us off as we checked out with such care. If we return to Yugawara, we know where to stay again.
