Overview
Pension Yufuin prides itself on an outdoor public hot-spring bath featuring large rocks, that’s unique in Oita. It also offers a garden, a terrace and free WiFi at the lobby. Some rooms overlook Mount Yufu, and the private-use hot-spring bath is available 24 hours. Japanese-style rooms come with a tatami (woven-straw) floor and traditional futon bedding, while Western rooms have carpeting and beds. All rooms come with a TV and yukata robes, and children’s amenities are available. Toilets and bathing facilities are shared. Yufuin Pension’s public hot-spring bath is available on different hours for male or female guests. The property features a garden and a shared lounge, and free parking is on site. Using fresh local produce, the pension serves a delicious breakfast that you cannot taste anywhere else. Breakfast is served at the breakfast room. Pension Yufuin is only a 7-minute walk from JR Yufuin Station, and Lake Kinrinko can be visited a 20-minute walk away.

I enjoyed the onsens very much! The two indoor onsens were very private, I have the whole room myself plus the security of the lock. I ended up having three dips during my short stay Nice garden setting and surrounding areas. There is a river outside and a mountain view. The staff are very friendly and helpful. With the use of phone translation, we managed to communicate. The toilet lid opens as you walk in and closes when you have finished. Even the rubbish bin is electronic!

“Family stay of 4”
Approximately 7-10mins walk from either station or bus terminal. Lawson, Aeon and Daiso conveniently located within a couple of mins walk.Nice mountain and stream backdrop. Room was decent - just like staying over at your Granny's house, basic and cosy. The family private Onsen is a bonus beside the general Onsen.

Fantastic location just off the main street and facing quiet river side lane. The onsen were so lovely we went as often as we could! Very homely and welcoming!

“Excellent place with wonderful staff.”
The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The hotel was also really nice and we loved the hot springs. Both the public and family baths were super nice. I highly recommend staying here.

“The sweetest owners and a lovely Onsen”
Such sweet people. Due to terrible Shikansen delays we arrived very late and thr onsen was about to close. They kept it open for us for a little longer so we could soak the long day of off us. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. And the ouside Onsen is lovely.

“It was a relaxing stay.. So peaceful and rejuvenating.”
Lodging does not include breakfast. Only coffee and tea are available at the common living room. We bought food from nearby shops so it wasn't an issue. We love the family onsen.

“Conforming as at home”
Owner are very friendly and kind. gave us information of travel and care of us all the time. They teach me taichi and did it together. I loved their outdoor bath surrounding by rock very much

The staff was incredibly kind and the availability of several onsen inside and outside was amazing. Breakfast is tasty and the centre of the town is just a short walk away. I would definitely recommend it if you plan to stay in the area!

I didn't eat breakfast here. As for the location of the accommodation, I'm not sure how much because I have my own car, but if traveling by train, you have to drag your own luggage. It may be a bit of a walk. There is an onsen outside the hotel that is very nice to use, but the weather was too cold. It's a shame we didn't use it. There are free bathing equipment available to use. Free parking
