Magnificent location. Lovely older building with nice timber features. The meal from the restaurant was excellent. Dining while looking out over the lake. Onsens were nice. Not too busy.

the hotel is just aside of the lake. so we can enjoy the lake view and the early morning mist very much.

The view is fantastic, but it is a bit far away from the jr station without pick out service and bus to access.

“Perfect stay”

The hotel has unbeatable proximity to Kinrin Lake as it is located right on the lake and is part of the beautigul scenery. Step out the hotel, you can find 天祖神社 on one side and 下ん湯 on the other side. Take a stroll around the lake and you see the hotel sitting on the lake, like in a fairy tale. Guests can enjoy views of the lake from guest rooms, hot spring and the restaurant. Aiming to see the morning mist on the lake water (a special scene only in autumn and winter), we looked out from the window in our room at 7:15am and saw some mists start coming out. So we went for the hot spring (with lake view) first, then took a walk round the lake to enjoy the views of the hotel, red maples and morning mists before we headed back for breakfast. Breakfast set was freshly prepared. I especially loved the bread which was steaming hot and tasted perfect with the corn soup. The outlook of the hotel might look dated, but the interior is very well maintained and cleaned. Guestrooms are quite spacious.

“A very nice peaceful place to stay to enjoy Lake Kinrinko and Yufuin.”

The ryokan is located right beside Lake Kinrinko, the room we had was facing the lake which is very nice. I met with the owner of the ryokan and he is the 4th generation of the business, he is a very nice man and he can speak English. If you would like to have dinner or breakfast you will need to inform them one day earlier but it is really worth to have breakfast in their restaurant because you can sit by the big window and enjoy the view of the lake. It is walking distance to Yufuin Floral Village and all the nice eateries around.

There was a man who keep smoking in the lobby through out the day, so I can't spend time in the lobby watching the lake.

It was exceptional, and I felt great staying there. Despite experiencing a 3.0 magnitude earthquake that night, the next morning was peaceful and amazing.
