“Nice homey place.”

The staff is kind and gentle. The place is very clean ,comfortable and nice homey decoration .We are family and my daughter was enjoy the place very much. The house is 350 m. from train station easy to find and not far from facilies.(There are seven eleven and lawson. ) We hope to come back and stay here again. ^^

“Warm and happy stay”

The owner is so kind and nice. Though she only speaks Japanese, she used translation app to tell us about the facilities of the hostel. The room is big and facilities are well maintained. Cat Assi is sooooo cute!!!

I had an exceptional stay. I stayed in the traditional yet stylish Japanese room with a heating table (kotatsu). Both the room and Onsen were perfect during the cold season and I barely wanted to leave the room because it was so great… It was also very practical and perfect for remote work. The host and the cat Assi were wonderful. The host was always helpful and kind and would provide additional towels or pajamas or anything else one might need during a trip. I felt very cared for! All in all, it was the perfect place to relax and exceeded all my expectations. I want to stay there again during a different season.

“Cozy homestay style hotel with cute cat, would visit again!”

It was a wonderful experience staying at Assi. Stayed in the triple room, very spacious and cozy interiors. Shared toilet/bathroom facilities, exceptionally clean. Had a shower/onsen in the property which was very nice to use. Very close to Yufuin town (5 minute walk), with convenience stores and nice restaurants nearby. Highlight was Assi the cat, very friendly and cute.

“Coziest stay in Kyushu”

Assi is an outstanding guesthouse! I do travel alot and i have experienced alot of stuff, I was really happy when i first stepped in. Very cozy, with a kitch decoration, super, super clean, it smells amazing and It felt just like home. The cat is a great bonus, i got sad at night when i hear him meowing from his room, wanting to come out x) he/her is very friendly. The hot bath is one other bonus and i used it every day. It is a good location for a chill night, about 5 to 7 minutes from the touristic street. As an avid traveller I highly recommend staying at Assi!

Lovely place! Outstanding hospitality and breakfast, plus a quirky but nice cat who even comes with a separate user guide 🥰 very comfortable room that was clean and tastefully decorated (I got a western style room because that was the only one left, but the Japanese ones also looked beautiful). Washing facilities and restrooms also great. The Onsen and shower facilities are outside, the Onsen was nice but not very warm since the springs seem to be a bit cooler than elsewhere. Still okay and no problem booking it privately. Note: shower facilities are not available in winter, so you have to keep that in mind. Cat: quirky, chatty, adorable and playful but, as most cats are she has a mind of her own. Not a huge cuddle bug but peaceful and comes over eventually. I'll definitely come back next year!

“Lovely place, lovely owner, lovely cat”

It's such a nice and lovely place! Very clean and comfy. The owner is very kind and helpful even she couldn't speak much English. And the cat is super adorable! There is also small onsen in the bathroom which is very pleasant. Totally recommend!

“Warm and welcoming accommodation experience!”

The location is convenient and easily accessible from the main street and the train station. The room we stayed in was a cozy and comfortable Japanese tatami-style room with a nice garden view. The host is so friendly and helpful, and we couldn't resist the sweet and adorable cat, Assi!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great experience!

Rooms are very clean and comfy with stylish decorations. The host is very friendly and helpful which make us feel heart-warming. Cat Assi is super cute. Hope to visit here again.

“Beautiful, warm, and welcoming!”

The location was great, it was very accessible from the closest train station, and the bus station. We only walked for 7 mins. And I loved how beautifully decorated it is, and it has everything that you might need for a comfortable stay. We washed our clothes after the trip there, there was a nice private onsen in some sense in the bathing area, and the view was beautiful from our rooms. We could use the coffee machine to make freshly brewed coffee, cook, and even a mini refrigerator.

Conveniently located near the station, with very comfortable rooms, a kind and generous host, and Assi the cat is so friendly and sweet.

“A lovely place”

Very nice, clean place in a quiet area about 5-10 min walk from the main streets. Very cozy with character. A nice verandah on units 1 & 2. The owner was lovely and the breakfast she supplied was more than my wife and I would normally eat for dinner. Not the usual breakfast westerners would eat and some of it was a bit different but when in Japan….. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Cat in the accoms is friendly and approachable but somewhat sassy. Owner is friendly and helpful with documents on whats around. Room is very cozy. Accoms has solo onsen bath but need to wait your turn as only can accomodate one guest at a time.

The location was convenient from the station. The owner was very friendly and kind. On the day of my check out she told me the short cut way to the station. I didn’t realize I made a wrong turn and to my surprise the owner was running after me telling me it was the wrong way! She guided me the correct way! A real Japanese way of omotenashi!! And of course, Assi, was such a sweet cat. I wish I could’ve stay longer.

“Very homey, peaceful, perfect!!”

One of the MOST comfortable and peaceful stays I’ve ever had in Japan. I had very good sleeps and rests each night in a very comfortable Japanese, tatami style room. I really felt like a childhood home. It was very comfortable. The room was big with it’s own VERY LOVELY porch. Waking up every morning and drinking tea and eating their DELICIOUS breakfast each morning was a joy and I really felt at peace. Assi chan the cat has been keeping me company during my solo stay in the inn. She is THE SWEETEST The bathroom and toilet are not attached to the room but not an issue at all as the place is small and very comfortable and clean I’ve never stayed at a place this HOMEY before. I wish I had stayed longer. I’m definitely coming back to Assi again when I visit Yufuin next time
