Overview
Westergate House offers bed and breakfast accommodation situated in mature gardens 1.6 km north of the village of Escrick, 8 km south of York on the A19 to Selby. Free private parking is available on site The red line park and ride is 3 km away at the York Designer Outlet. University of York is 7.7 km away, while The Yorkshire Air Museum and Elvington Race Track is 12 km away. The rooms each features a fridge, flat-screen TV, an electric kettle, hot and cold drinks, homemade biscuits and complimentary toiletries. All rooms are en suite. Free WiFi is included in your stay and there is a shared lounge at the property. Guests can enjoy a full English breakfast with fresh local produce. There is a regular bus service located 45 metres away. Westergate House is 11.5 km from York Racecourse and 15 minutes' drive from the JORVIK Viking Centre.

“I didn't want to leave!”
I was greeted with a warm welcome from the host, who showed me to my room. The rooms were all named after Yorkshire folk or words. The room was very pleasant and looked out over the garden. The bed was comfortable and the room even had a small fridge for milk etc.. The residents lounge was magnificent, large, and very relaxing. Many books to read, and even a collection of LP's (remember those?) from the sixties and seventies, to flick through. The breakfast room was well laid out, the breakfast itself was very filling, it set me up for the day ahead. Loads of local villages to explore, many having pubs and restaurants.

“A perfect stay with friendly hosts.”
The property was clean and tastefully furnished, everything felt new and in perfect condition. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and breakfast was perfect. It was just outside York but not too far so it was easy to drive in or take the park and ride.

We had a small but very cosy room. It had a great view out of a big window. Although on a main street it was totally silent. The hosts Paul and Hilary were absolutely lovely and gave us a warm welcome and soma great talks in the morning. Breakfast was also really good and because it was included, my wife and me concluded that it had so far the best value for money.

My Mum and I had a very comfortable stay here. Our room was spacious with plenty of storage. The beds were very comfortable with crisp bedding! It was like being at home! We liked the added touch of homemade biscuits and cake leftevery day in our room. Breakfast was fabulous with lots to choose from and all freshly prepared! What a beautiful property! We were looked after impeccably! Thank you Hilary and Paul for a lovely couple of days!
