Rebecca was fantastic, as were all the staff, place was so homely with every comfort you needed for a great night's sleep even when England won. Everything quietened down afterwards when we needed it too. Beds were comfy pillows soft and yet firm enough for support, duvets soft and plumpsious, food was incredibly I had the pizza, my hubby had the fish and chips delicious fresh superb service, had some pizza left as big enough for 2 so we had it for our breakfast, lovely staff gave us a pizza box. Our room was lovely the old stable block, no ghost jenny or ghost horses I think we were too hard to wake up. Buddy our dog was so welcomed and was given water and loads of fuss. Can't wait to see them after our holiday as we used them as a half way house to Scotland. Fully recommend close to everything beautiful pub.

Perfect location, needed to be a reasonably priced stay over as money was tight in this trip. Was basic a bit old fashioned but clean and a comfy bed so that was all I needed really. Staff were really helpful, we were meeting friends so did not take breakfast

Friendly staff at pub for check in showed us room etc . We were able to park out the back, which was really helpful. Good instructions about access and key collections. Super easy location in walking distance to city centre with lots of food/drink options in immediate area incl brewery next door and the pub itself.

Staff really friendly. Onside parking for £10 a night, which is cheap for York. Comfy bed and big pillows. 10 minutes walk to York Minster and the Shambles.

There was a good atmosphere in the Pub and the staff were very friendly. I can not walk far and a member of staff carried my bag for me. I did not inform them I needed a ground floor room , so it was not their fault that they gave me a second floor room and there were no lifts as the building is old. Can’t complement the staff enough

I didn’t bother with breakfast, all they offered was a cooked breakfast, I just wanted cereal, fruit , toast and marmalade.

“I felt comfortable, safe and able to easily access all that York has to offer.”

Location within easy walking distance to The Shambles was excellent. Every staff member was welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast was ample and very good. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. Next time I will take advantage of the outdoor lounge area and beer garden.
