Everything! The cottage was perfect, had everything to accommodate us including our dog. There was even tea and coffee so we could make a cuppa. Couldn't fault it was perfect in every way. Host was very helpful,we would definitely come back again.

Everything we could possibly have needed was available in the house. I wasn't expecting it, but there were even dog bowls waiting, and a towel for the dog. The bedrooms were very comfortable, and the cottage was clean, there was even a little welcome basket including dog treats which was a lovely touch. A very peaceful location. I would highly recommend.

“Lovely peaceful property for a relaxing stay”
Peaceful and well maintained estate with a lovely swimming pool and tennis court, which our 7 year old loved (although Andy Murray won’t lose any sleep over his tennis skills!) Hosts were available if needed and very friendly. Easy access to York, Knaresborough and Harrogate via the train from Poppleton.

“Quiet, relaxing, rural location that is only a short drive away from good local amenities”
We were met by Penny, our friendly, helpful host. The cottage is like a smaller version of a home from home which is well equipped. It was like living in a small historical village. Nice heated outdoor swimming pool. Comfortable beds with white linen, good blackout blinds, good quality, large, thick towels. Dog friendly and we loved seeing the beautiful horses in the fields. Nice local walks. Good amount of tourist information provided and a very nice welcome basket with some local products.

It was the personal touches that made it so welcoming. The welcome box upon arrival, tea, coffee, sugar. Oil as I forgot to purchase this when I went the shop. Cleaning/cooking equipment etc. Red House Estate is absolutely beautiful. Waking up to the fresh air and the horses walking past was breath taking. We’re looking forward to our next visit.
