I highly recommend this accommodation. The location is beautiful, with a lovely and peaceful setting. I travelled for work with supported individuals, including some who are non-verbal, and they really enjoyed the wildlife and surrounding grounds. The property owners were wonderful—very kind and welcoming. The lady of the house, who has lived there for over 50 years, was especially lovely. Overall, I would highly recommend both the property and the staff.

We are travelling with kids and we had a wet bed completely unexpectedly. Normally I always check hotels or properties have mattress protector which it had but what we didn't know it wasn't waterproof. They made us pay for new mattress. In our opinion the property has to take the measures to protect or clean accidents because it is something expectable and it is something of the normal use of a property. It gave us quite a bitter and ugly feeling in our vacation. So beware if you are travelling with kids, elderly or you get sick because extra charges will be applied.

Spacious and well kitted out. We particularly enjoyed the use of a log burner in the evenings. It was amazing that every room was en-suite and beds had option of twin or super king. Beautiful and quiet location with walks from the door but still within an easy drive into York.

The place was beautiful with very spacious bedrooms. Great communication from the owners who also provided lovely gestures such as a little welcome pack, fresh flowers in the living room and allowed us to check out later than planned. Would definitely recommend and go back.

“Short stay with friends”

We really liked that all 4 bedrooms could be twin rooms, all are en suite, and all are spacious and comfortable. For a group of 7 friends on a short break together this was ideal. No fighting over the "best" room! Also a lovely peaceful countryside location but relatively easy to find and handy for Poppleton Bar Park & Ride into the city.
