Friendly host creating a relaxed friendly atmosphere and a good hearty breakfast. She had lots of knowledge on the local area. It was a very handy short walking distance from the town.

The house is really lovely, beautifully furnished and decorated in a contemporary style which complemented the Victorian design. Our room was a good size for two of us with plenty of drawer space and a small wardrobe. We had a kettle and tea/coffee with fresh milk - a welcome change from those small plastic pots of UHT milk! Lovely biscuits, chocolates and fresh flowers in the room - the small details made us feel special and makes the difference between a personal approach and a bland hotel chain. The Guest House really was a home from home. Carole and Wendy were warm and welcoming and treated us like old friends. We had some laughs with them, a very friendly pair. I must mention the breakfasts! A lovely choice of hot food to accompany cereals, fruit, toast and a great selection of jams and marmalade, all made locally. We especially loved having salmon fillet for Sunday breakfast, what a treat! All in all, a lovely house, a warm welcome, great food and a convenient location for all York's attractions. A short walk from the property were the city walls and it is just a short walk to the city centre. There is a bus stop a few yards down the road from the property. Highly recommended!

Carole and Wendy were so welcoming, and the B&B was spotless! There are little touches that make such a difference to providing a comfortable and relaxing stay. The breakfast was delicious, and so many options to choose from. They cater for all dietary requirements. We will be back to stay again soon! Thank you both for such a lovely weekend 🥰

The service was amazing. We are welcomed warmly and the Carol was really nice. The rooms were really cozy and very clean. Overall it was just like you were staying in your home. Carol gave us information about the city and the activities that are going on. She gave us tips about local restaurants and bars. The breakfast was amazing. One of the best breakfast in town and the you won't need to book another place. The location is quite but it is really close to the city center. You can reach to the city center with 15min of walk.

Great location, just a short walk into the centre. The owner is lovely and very knowledgeable about the area. She talked us through a lot of the history and places to visit on arrival, which we appreciated as we had never visited York before and also being very into history ourselves. The guesthouse is spotlessly clean, and the room was very cosy.

Breakfast was excellent whiskey porridge was lovely....Carol and Wendy couldn't do enough to help us....Will definitely go again. Was only about 15 minutes walk into York but you could get a bus just outside.
