Overview
Astor York Hostel is set in a Grade II listed Victorian building, just a 15-minute walk from the historic centre of York. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. The property can only accommodate guests over the age of 18. All rooms at this hostel are en-suite, with WiFi access throughout the whole building. There is a spacious lounge where guests can relax, and two large dining rooms. Astor York Hostel can be accessed on foot from York railway station in 10 minutes, or by bus from the town centre.

The atmosphere was really cozy, and we especially liked the common areas. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and comfortable stay. It felt like a great place to relax after a long day and had a very friendly, homely vibe.

Very good location, I appreciated the cleaners coming in everyday. It had everything I needed and check-in check out was very easy. It was also great that they could hold onto my bags for me before/after check-in.

Barbeque great value and great for meeting others. Spacious in common areas. People working there were nice. Had many brochures. Price is a sweet spot in such a city. Beds were comfortable. Met a few people. And it wasn't loud at all. Really enjoyed overall.

Patrick was super friendly and helpful on our arrival , a happy chap who made us feel at ease with it being our first time staying at a hostel in our older years ! Comfortable firm beds and crsp clean bedding .

I recommend others to stay at this hostel. Staff are helpful and friendly. Whenever I am in York, I will stay at this hostel. Easy to get to. Bus stop outside the hostel.

“Charming common spaces, but the room basics missed the mark.”
Staff were accomodating when I asked for extra blanket. Bed was decent enough and room had decent light. The common areas were beautiful for reading or doing work.

I especially liked the lounge. There was also a nice patio. The kitchen was also quite spacious with everything one could need. The free walking tour with Erica was definitely a highlight, I highly recommend you do it if it takes place during your stay. Overall a very nice experience.

“GREAT HOSTAL VIBES.”
Staff were friendly facilities were/good with superb kitchen area and lounge bar. Very central just short walk into town. Rooms were basic but adequate.
