“Comfortable”
Location is very strategic as its just 2 mins walk to the main station (Yudanaka) for trains, busses and taxis, as well as an onsen where the guest of this hotel will be given free onsen ticket every night. It is also 2 mins walking distance to Lawson, and about 5 mins walking distance to Grocery store (American Drugs). The owner is super friendly and helpful. The facilities are beyond my expectations despite I had already saw the photos on booking.com before arrival.

“A warm reprieve in a frozen winter”
Taka-san was lovely. We didn't have much conversation, but she was so kind and friendly. I wanted to borrow a pair of crampons, and she immediately brought out a pair (I later bought some at the snow monkey park, but her kindness was appreciated). The bed was comfortable and I had a great sleep both nights. Nice atmosphere to this modern yet traditional homestay guesthouse!

Food was lovely! I bought breakfast both days and a dinner and it was lovely and authentic very nice matcha latte. I sat next to the sweet dog. Beds in dorm was lovely - felt like it's own little room behind curtain door and had privacy. It was exactly what I needed and very welcoming. Friendly place to stay. As a solo traveler I really liked it. Came here to go and see the monkeys and was great. Good location could go and walk around and find nice food so close by. I'd really recommend it.

“Excellent couple-ran guest house”
Excellent guest house - would absolutely recommend! It is run by a lovely couple who were very kind and welcoming. They don't really speak much English, but we managed through Google translate. It was lovely and warm and clean. They do breakfast and have a small bar where you can order food and drink. They will provide towels for free if you ask them. Shared shower/washroom and individual male/female toilet. They have a little dog that is very friendly. Very quiet overnight. We'd booked a bed each in the male / female dorms, but we were lucky and got the room at the back that had two beds in it, which was a nice surprise.

“Friendly and cozy spot in Yamanouchi!”
I love love loved my stay here! Like many others said, it was too bad it was only for 1 night. The hospitality, the home cooked dinner, the coziness of the place, lounge areas, clean, and how spacious it was, made it one of my fave spots while I stayed in Japan! As a bonus I was given a coupon to use the public onsen baths which was a nice treat. Easy location to get to the monkey park by bus. Walkable to train station. Sekichan was nice enough to let me keep my belongings at the place while I visited the monkeys the next morning and got to come back and pick up my stuff.

Very cozy traditional guest house. We appreciated the very nice and helpful host, the breakfast is delicious (I recommend trying the Matcha latte). She also provided with invitations for a nearby onsen which we really enjoyed!
