“Mountain escape run by a lovely host”

The host is absolutely the sweetest person! This really felt like staying in a family guesthouse where people sit and chat with each other. The location is spectacular, far above the bustle of the town, and it was a perfect base to do the sunrise hike to Damianshan.

“An amazing holiday”

Yunshe Mountain Guesthuse is located across the river from Xingping Old town. We took a local ferry to crossed over and the lady owner picked us up from the pier to her accommodation which is located inside pomelo & mandarin plantations. As we were inside the plantation, the enchanting, sweet soft pomelo flowers scent drifted through the guesthouse compound days & nights, such an amazing aroma. The lady owner suggested and organised all the outdoor activities for us, including hiked DAMIAN Shan to see sunrise and Lijiang first bend. She is also a good cook, she made tasty breakfast, lunch and dinner for our entire stay. She also taught us how to make bamboo rice. I highly recommended Yunshe Mountain Guesthuse to my family and friends.

“Authentic rural China experience - a must for hikers and photographers”

Incredible place, with stunning views and lovely owners. Go here if you want an authentic rural experience in China, far away from touristic traps and crowds. The rooms are really clean, traditional and cosy. If you love hiking is the perfect place for you as there are a few viewpoints close to the hotel, passing through their cultivations of pomelos and clementines. Personally I preferred Damian mountain to the more popular Xinggong (for which you also need to pay). If you are an experienced hiker, you can also go to the Fairy terrace - check AllTrails for the route. There is also a hidden temple next to the river which was beautiful to visit. The owner will share with you all the information to find the right path. Don’t get scared for the remoteness of the place as you can cross the river from Xingping for 10 yuan and the owner can pick you up by car. Alternatively, you can reach the destination with DiDi (I chose this option from Yangshuo). Food is delicious and authentic, they offer plenty of options, also vegetarian. P

“Stunning location, charming and relaxing spot”

Absolutely stunning location in the mountains. The path to Dam Main mountain is footsteps away. It is a steep one hour walk to the top and has one of the most amazing outlooks in China. This is a small family run guest house, with home cooked meals. Duan - the lady who runs it is super friendly and helpful. Her English is not good, but with Google Translate and the WeChat translation feature you can get by. The rooms are large and spotlessly clean. We stayed as a family with two teenage boys. Duan is super helpful and will pick you up from the Xingping ferry when you text her. The ferry crossing is 5 minutes and then the drive is maybe ten minutes through the countyside. Its too far to walk to the ferry - but the isolation away from the crazy tourist area is the best thing. The kids loved the family cat and dog. There is a gorgeous sunset viewing area about 15 mins along the pathway. The setting is surrounded by small orchards of clementines and pomellos. We were the only Western tourists. Some ladies from Guangzhou came with their mothers and a family from Singapore. We spent one day going to Ruyi Mountain and cruising the Li River on a bamboo raft (get a driver to take you to Manshan for the longer raft ride, the area around Xingping is crowded). Duan took us to a local Buddhist temple inside the mountain.

Beautiful view and vibe, the food was really good (even cooking vegan food was possible!) and the hosts were very kind, helpful and considerate.

Awesome location, incredible cosy facilities. Free breakfast each morning was delicious too. Host took me on an impromptu tour to a nearby cave/temple on a rainy day which was very cool. Also helped me arrange transport to and from the hotel.

Location is great, far from the noise and the big hotels, but with a stunning view, in the peace of the mountain, surrounded by nature. Host is very nice and helpful.

The location is incredible, in a peaceful area and with beautiful views. Easy access to the Damian mountain for sunrise. Easy enough to walk or get a ride down to the pier to go to Xingping. The food was very good.

What an amazing place to stay, I recommend it wholeheartedly. The view, the kind service, the room, all were above and beyond my expectation. I really recommend taking the opportunity to dine there as well.
