Just 5 km from Yangshuo, The Giggling Tree is an unique guest house which is located in the tiny village of Little Mountain Gate. We stayed here for the second time - our first visit was over 8 years ago, and now we returned with kids. It was just as good and pleasant as we remembered. The hotel atmosphere has a charming old-style farm vibe, and the swimming pool offers a beautiful view of the mountains. The hotel also arranges cool (paid) activities for children, such as dumpling making and fan painting, which our kids enjoyed. We rented bikes to explore the nearby river, and Laura was great helping us book tickets and a driver for the Sanjie Liu show.

Nice location along Yulong River. There are bicycles which you can rent from the accommodation which is a good way to explore the nearby Yulong River.

Booked this room for my 70 year old father and his partner who lives in China. He loved the hotel and kept saying over and over what a great choice it was. The 2 bedroom suite was extremely comfortable, clean and the views are stunning. Food is so good at the restaurant and the staff ware very hard working and friendly.

The most stunning place you can stay in Yangshuo. Surrounded by the famous mountains, the converted barns are made into cosy rooms/dining areas and the terrace is as charming as it is beautiful. We stayed in the newer part in a 2 bedroom suite which comfortably slept my whole family (2 adults, 3 kids). We had stunning views from almost every window. The beds are very comfortable and the Aircon was very cold (much needed in July). What really makes this hotel special are the staff. Everyone is so friendly, hard working and happy to help. You can book almost everything through them. Most of the staff speak excellent English. Their menu is extensive and in the 5 days we stayed there, we had almost all our meals there and every dish was delicious. Honestly, the few meals we had outside didn’t compare to the quality of the hotel’s. Thank you to all the staff at The Giggling Tree. What an amazing place run by wonderful people.
