“Great place, I felt like at friend's home”
The guesthouse is really nice and right in the center of Yanagawa. I stayed in traditional japanese room, but the common area was also great, though quite small (I wish I knew about the hidden library upstairs :). Owners were really friendly, recommended me some hidden places to visit and eat, we talked about traveling etc.

“Perfect place to stay to explore Yanagawa”
Guesthouse Horiwari is right in the heart of Yanagawa and a great place to stay for travellers. The staff was very nice and welcoming. They gave me a map with things to see in the city. The room was very spacious and comfortable and the common facilities were nice and clean.

* The People: The host is of great responsibility of the guest house, paying attention to the safety of guests and could speak and understand amount of English. * The Location: The Guest House is located among the sightseeing in Yanagawa, along the river banks and behind a bar. We could easily get to the delicious food, music store, temples and local people there.

Really nice staff, the residential assistant are also really nice, try to help you the best and are nearly always there. English of the residential assistant depends on who its doing right now (and sadly a lot of Japanese people are not so good at English, but the housekeeper speaks good English. The atmosphere is also really nice since there are often people sitting in the main room.

I love everything here :) The best guesthouse I have ever stay in Japan~ I love the great ambience in Yanagawa, and Horiwari made me felt in love with Yanagawa and I will be back again! Recommend to foreigner also, the owner can speak English very well with warm hospitality, we had a good times together during my 2 nights stay. Recommend to solo travellers too! And they have tatami room as well for family and friends. I would like to stay tatami for my next stay if I visit with my friends~ :)))
