I liked that you could book a private time at the outdoor onsen. The staff were very friendly and warmly welcomed foreign visitors, doing their best to communicate in English.

Excellent traditional Ryokan, Japanese breakfast oustanding, private mixed onsen time slot booking possible and inclusive in price, unfortunately time slot only 30 minutes but it s an outstanding outside and spacious onsen pool, they did their best to explain everything regarding room and stay despite some language difficulties

Wonderful stay. The service, location and ryokan were perfect. We had the most delicious dinner at the ryokan and enjoyed the beautiful private onsen.

The family who runs the ryokan is super friendly, nice and help us with every question. The Onsen experience was perfect. We had half an hour privat time and it was absolutely peaceful and more than enough in the hot water.

Beautifully decorated ryokan and fabulous outdoor onsen, one of the best I've used in Japan. The staff were very warm and welcoming and assisted with my luggage up and down the stairs and drove me to the train station on checkout as its a difficult steep longish walk with a heavy suitcase. Prob the best place to stay in The area if you can't book into Shibu onsen 👌

A wonderful experience in traditional rooms, traditional tee (complimentary) a beautiful outdoor onsen, delicious traditional breakfast, perfect service, parking directly in front of the property, and restaurants nearby (an extremely good sushi restaurant right next door).

“Wonderful ryokan in yudanaka”

Amazing ryokan with wonderful friendly staff. I wish we were able to stay longer as it was just 1 night for us to visit the snow monkey park. Yudanaka is a great town. Friendly locals and good food. The ryokan facilities were excellent as is their morning breakfast. The outdoor onsen is great too.

“Heartfelt Highlight of Trip”

Room was lovely, facilities were lovely. The chance to use the outdoor onsen privately for half an hour was a lovely addition. The indoor onsens were lovely too. Staff were lovely, friendly and caring and seemed genuinely interested in you as people. We had a fantastic experience where we had trouble getting up to the snow monkey park and the staff put in a lot of extra effort to help make sure we got there. We were really touched and it was a highlight of our trip. The dinner was fantastic, and was presented beautifully as was breakfast. A showcase of Japanese cuisine served with love and care for the ingredients! Easy to get to from Yudanaka station to here with a short walk, although this does involve a steep hill which you need to consider if carrying bags yourself.

Staff were very friendly and always offering help to make sure my stay was comfortable. The onsens were lovely and I.ll definitely return or recommend this ryokan to others.

Beautiful ryokan, spotlessly clean, outdoor onsen very special as we were outdoors in the snow. Owners were very friendly and helpful and when we couldn’t get a taxi to the station they gave us a lift.
