Overview
On just a 5-minute drive from Yudanaka Station, Wafu-no-Yado MASUYA features beautiful Japanese-style rooms, hot spring baths and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms boast a private outdoor hot spring bath. Masuya Wafu no Yado is a 15-minute drive from the Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park, as well as from the Heiwa Kannon (Peace Statue). Zenko-ji Temple is an hour’s drive away. The spacious, bright rooms at Masuya are comfortably furnished with tatami-mat flooring and traditional futon bedding. They come with a seating area, satellite TV and a fridge. Guests at the Wafu no Yado can soak in spacious indoor and outdoor hot spring baths, or take a flower pressing class. Ladies can choose from 50 colourful gowns to use. The Japanese hot spring experience is complete with award-winning multi-course dinners, served in private dining rooms. Delicious local specialities can also be ordered separately.

“Luxurious Relaxing Stay”
This hotel was so luxurious and beautiful. Our room was absolutely huge with a tatami living room (tv, kotatsu, lounge, cupboards), bedroom with dim calm lighting, annex area with sink and amenities, heated toilet, and finally a beautiful wooden outdoor private onsen. Staff delivered clean yukata and treats each day, with fresh towels. The Japanese breakfast was truly a treat; tasted wonderful, fresh, with so much variety and to our surprise, it was served to us in a private room (there were multiple breakfast rooms, each morning labelled with the name of the guest on the door). We lived like pampered kings here for 3 nights. The experience was incredible and I highly recommend.

“Nice Ryokan near monkey forest with great traditional dinner and breakfast”
They have a very nice hotel with a big onsen and good traditional dinner and breakfast. They accommodated for allergies and preferences. They served the food in a private dining room. We where with 6 and got a nice and big room with ample room for all the plates. The onsen was nice and big and if you have tattoos you can book a private onsen for a small fee.

“Fantastic authentic experience”
The staff were absolutely incredible. So amazingly polite and attentive, a real Ryokan experience. We used the private onsen as we have tattoos, and it was a lovely experience. The food was plentiful and very tasty. Some unusual dishes and new flavours which were fun to try. We made a very stupid mistake and actually left our passports behind, but they quickly notified booking.com and forwarded these to our next hotel. Amazing staff.

Service was excellent, room was clean, felt really taken care of. Food was amazing, we were able to try the local shinshu sourced products. Their in house onsens are amazing as well. Highly recommend!
