Overview
Boasting open-air hot spring baths, a heated indoor pool and beautiful Japanese gardens, Senjukaku offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation that has a historic charm. Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park is a 15-minute drive away. Offering mountain views, all rooms are fitted with traditional tatami (woven-straw) flooring and a low table with seating cushions. In-room amenities include a flat-screen TV and a fridge. The en suite bathroom comes with a hairdryer and free toiletries. Free WiFi is available in all rooms. While staying at Senjukaku Ryokan, guests can unwind at the spacious public bathing area or reserve one of the cosy family baths for private use. “Superb ryokan in a perfect location”
We loved everything from the moment we entered. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive and went out of their way to make our stay special and explain everything. The traditional room was beautiful with garden views and the multi-course kaiseki meal was outstanding, as was the Japanese breakfast. Both the public and private onsen are great, and both have an indoor and outdoor (hotter) onsen. The location is right near the trail entrance to the snow monkey park, which is a lovely walk in itself. We would love to return one day.

“Great location with friendly staff”
Great hotel walking distance to the entrance to the snow monkey. Staff wise friendly and helpful, meal wise was delicious, our attendant, who i did not manged to get her name was super friendly, she explained each dish that came for our dinner and found out she is 75 years old and is still spritely. Hotel is big and spacious, the Onsen was also good in terms of cleaniess. Room wise is reasonable for 4 adults. Overall had a pleasant stay

“An oasis”
An oasis in the middle of montains close to Nagano, an opportunity for enjoying the onsen experience. The creew are amazing and they have transfer from and to train station. And we are very close to Monkey Park as well

The dinner and breakfast were amazing. Highly recommend to book both. Also the private onsen was a great chance to try it and get familiar with its usage before going to a public one.

“Beautiful place”
Beautiful, spacious hotel with a beautiful garden. Onsen and swimming pool were both lovely. Restaurant was fantastic. Very close to the start of the walk to the snow monkey park.

“Amazing ryokan close to the Monkey Park”
The breakfasts and dinners provided as part of the half board option were amazing.The kaiseki dinner was a highlight, delicious and immaculately presented. Without exception, the staff were friendly, helpful and very efficient. The Japanese style room was spacious, and comfortable and had a lovely balcony.
