It wasn't a long walk to or from the station. It was very quiet, and we were able to use the onsens privately.

The private onsen was absolutely lovely. The room was spacious and the beds were incredibly warm and comfortable, especially for the cold winter night. The owners were both super helpful and kind too!

Onsen was big and hot. Room was big. Very close to train station and the only convenience store in town that was open in evenings. Beds were great. Staff were great. Had heavy snow the night before we checked out and they let us check out late so I could have a second visit to snow monkey park on checkout day.

Property was clean and well-equipped with amenities in the room. The onsen was lovely and provided yukata and geta were great. Well-located close to station, convenience store, and local restaurants. Tatami area of room was lovely.

“Great traditional Ryoken”

The staff were amazing; friendly, helpful and spoke good English. They provided a number of recommendations for things to do during our stay. It's a beautiful old building with traditional Japanese decor. The rooms offer a fantastic insight into traditional Japanese living, however the low beds may not be for everyone. The breakfast was the best that we had in Japan. The private onsen is brilliant and again offers great insight into the lifestyle of these mountain towns. Traditional yukata and slippers on offer for wearing inside the property. It's very close to Yudanaka station where you can get the bus to the snow monkey park.

We loved the fact it was a traditional room with a tatami mat flooring and the traditional robes (Yukata). The sitting area in our room was so lovely and spacious and everything was so clean. Our room had two single beds so I’m not sure if this is common even for couples. It was only a 5min walk from the station but just be aware to get back to the station you walk up a steep hill. We were ok as we’re fit and only had small cases but harder if you have large cases. We also found some lovely restaurants near by so for us everything was in walking distance. The large American Drug store was not far away and had everything so we were happy to grab some bananas for breakfast and alcohol with our dinner. The private onsens were a nice bonus too.

Spacious room with in room onsen bath. the room air conditioner work well especially in this winter season. Must try breakfast and dinner - although its a bit pricey but it exceed the value of money. The ryokan is very close to the train and bus station - quite convenient to go around. Friendly services also make us felt welcome and comfortable.

Great place to stay. Host was very helpful and could speak English. Beds comfortable and spacious room. Private onsen times can be booked that was very nice. Nice wooden onsen Close to Yudanaka train station. We visited the snow monkeys from here and was about 10 mins bus ride from accomodation.
