Location was excellent, right next to ski lifts. The hotel had a public bath, restaurants, and it's own ski rental shop. The rooms were spacious and well maintained, and staffs were lovely.

The staff were all amazing - always very happy to help. The onsite food was great and there was a reasonable variety for a short stay. The breakfast had a good range of options, and the coffee machine coffee was perfect for us (some connoisseurs may think otherwise). The onsens were an absolute treat to have every day. And the location, the ability to literally toddle over to the ski lifts straight from the back doors of the resort, is what makes this place a must-book (just leave room for our next trip!)

Location, design, lounge with fire and bar. Ski in ski out very good. Literally 50 m to the lift to the best part of Shiga Kogan. Room are spacious with lovely views. View from onsen. Nice bar tender.

“Great value ski in hotel”

Brilliant location. Not truly ski out but 2 mins walk to chairlift and 4 or 5 mins walk to base with lift tickets, food and ski school. It counts as ski in although if you don’t manage your momentum, you might have a short walk. No problem. So well set up for skiing. Ski locker right near entrance (on third floor), gas pressure nozzles to blow snow off gear. Lovely staff, helpful and friendly. The manager was particularly helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good (more than adequate and wide variety but quality is acceptable rather than amazing). Dinners are again fairly good but quality again is reasonable rather than exceptional. Within expectation considering this is a ski hotel. We had the French and Japanese (didn’t try teppanyaki). Would highly recommend half board - it’s easier and not many options nearby. Cafe/bar was good - had coffee there, lovely vibe, udon for lunch was good. Overall, I was very happy with the Hotel relative to the price we paid. We have stayed at Ski in Ski out hotels elsewhere including Europe and paid significantly more for lesser quality accommodations than this. A great stay and a great ski experience.

“Exceptional stay.”

This was our second stay at this property having spent a week here in January 2025. That stay was good, this stay was exceptional. The rooms are dated but large and very comfortable. Breakfast buffet offers plenty of choice and eggs can be ordered. The onsen is large and super clean. We ate at the Japanese restaurant every night and food was of the highest standard. Location is ski in ski out.

Prices for dinner were outrageous

This was our second time staying at the hotel. The room was a good size for three adults with a lovely view into the forest. All beds were comfortable, with good quality linen. The onsen was great for a soak at the end of a ski day. The ski in/ski out was excellent. Ski rental availability at the hotel is handy, and is the same company as the ski rental right next to the lifts, making swapping of skis/snow boards, or adjustments, super easy. The lounge area with an open fire and bar provides great ambience. Love the Shiga Kogen ski area. So much variety for skiing - you can explore from one end of the valley right to the end. Will be back.
