The hotel is 50m from the nearest ski lift and has a good boot room in the basement with ski hire on site. It is the only hotel in the area with its own onsen. The all inclusive food and drink was remarkable - not only breakfast, lunch and dinner, but afternoon snacks of sandwiches, cakes, nuts and sweets. Beer, wines and spirits as well as soft drinks, fruit juices, teas and coffee throughout the day and evening. Multilingual staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was decent with a mix of Japanese and Western style dishes at every meal, all served buffet style.

Food was excellent. Hotel was clean. Great to have the fire going every afternoon and evening. Complimentary drinks and nibbles were just perfect post slopes.

Rental of snowboard and shoes were prepared before I arrived as I emailed them prior of my sizing. Every dinner they will reserve a seat for me too. Very thoughtful!

“Classic Japanese Stay”

Everything was included. Food, drinks, fireplace, storage, onsen, spacious room, heaters. Food was great, staff friendly, onsen hot! I travelled solo, but many couples and families were there too.

Close to ski lift. Central Shiga Kogeb ski location. Staff were very friendly, fully inclusive package is worth it. Dinner and breakfast selection was amazing. Also provided light lunch and bites to eat through out the day.

Great location to ski lift, good quality food, beer and wine self service, sitting around the fire meeting new people, the onsen and included ski/snowboard hire which I didn’t realise when booking. Quality of equipment was passable although length of skis was limited if tall or experienced.

The breakfast was exceptional. Big variety of western and Japanese food and Drink.The staff were attentive and helpful. We had the all-inclusive package which meant we could have unlimited food and drink from sun up to late evening. Although there were set buffet times for breakfast and dinner. The location was perfect: just opposite the Takamagahara Lift at Shiga Kogen. My wife had an injury and they kindly drove us to the hospital for treatment and medical certificate.

Amazing family feel and very hospitable and helpful staff. They were funny and easy to get along with and went out of their way to ensure you’re stay felt like a home away from home. Will definitely be coming back again! The food was amazing and fireplace and cocktail at the end of a big ski day was definitely a highlight. 100% would recommend but also would love to keep as a secret find!

Very close to the slopes. Fabulous full board including lunch and drinks. Free ski hire (beginner skis). Lovely multilingual staff (English, Japanese, French, Danish)

The price included all meals, drinks and skis and snowboards. The staff were brilliant and helped solve some problems we had with lost items and also assisted with onward hire.

Hotel is dated. Happy with free flow of Drinks and snacks throughout the day. Staff is friendly and helpful. Meals were somewhat repetitive but it was of an acceptable quality and taste. We didn’t know that our package included rental of ski equipment. Bus stop is within a short walking distance from the hotel.

The rental shop did not have good service. They did not let us choose the boards and the equipment was quite faulty

Traditional hotel lodge in an excellent location in Shiga Kogan. 3 minute walk to the main ski lift. Loved the open fireplace and communal space. The large onsen was very nice after a day on the slopes. Welcoming and helpful staff. And extensive breakfast options. Easy walking to bars and restaurants. Ski hire equipment was new, high quality and great value.
