“Authentic Japanese experience”

Very kind and helpful staff, the owners offered us a shuttle from the station and to the monkey park, which we really appreciated. Our room had an amazing view of the mountains and the river and the Kannon statue, and we enjoyed the traditional Japanese room facilities like the tatami mats, futon bed, floor seating table and yukatas. The hotel interior is a little bit retro, but we liked it as it felt authentic, and everywhere was very clean. There were clean towels and Japanese tea and a flask with hot water waiting for us every day. A kind man at the reception offered us soft pillows in case we don't like the traditional bean pillow, but surprisingly we enjoyed them. We used the public bath at the hotel for a small fee and we especially liked the outside bath, as the water is very hot, it is nice to be outside in the evening to cool down (we visited in June). It is a natural hot spring with high mineral content. Sauna room, bathing amenities and body lotion are available at the onsen. The hotel was quiet, so at times I had the onsen all to myself. The town centre is around 15 min walk from the hotel and it offers a nice variety of restaurants and bars and a supermarket. There's a burger place right next to the hotel with very nice ice cream. We want to come back in winter to experience the onsen and the mountains in the snow too.

The owner gave us a transfer to and from The station and to the monkey park. He gave us maps and timetable for the buses back from the monkey park. There is a good burger place next to the hotel open 11 am- 9 pm

Omodaka - convenient easy to find location for those driving. Nearby attractions less than 30min drive. Front desk super helpful. Rooftop onsen was unique but water is quite hot, so be prepared. Tatami rooms were big and had separate toilet and shower. Dinner was good. Breakfast was ok. Last but not the least, Yudanaka Brewery, a short 8 min walk away, was a surprise find. Great place to enjoy local craft beer, snacks and food.

The breakfast is amazing with Japanese food. The osen is just like in the picture and the location is very quite and good for escape for big city. Near Monkey Park also

This was like one of the best - super nice staff, so so friendly and welcoming. Onsens are tattoo- friendly. Dinner was amazing!! What a nice place to stay.

“Peaceful stay”

The room was spacious and pretty with a great view. There were yakuta and slippers you could use, and the indoor and outdoor onsen were very nice. Breakfast was good, and we got a ride to the snow monkey park, and a ride to the Yudanaka train station afterwards. It's cheaper than other places in the area, great value for your money.

The shuttle service to and from the station and to the monkey park was excellent. The owner although his English wasn't great was very obliging and helpful. The food was lovely, with some Western touches for breakfast.

The staff were amazing, welcoming and even provided a free lift to the Monkey Park.

“Amazing”

The staff were always very lovely, helpful, and accommodating. They gave us 2 lifts to the monkey park & to Yudanaka station and gave clear information for us to get to Shiga Kogen. Our room was absolutely beautiful offering stunning views and we had a very comfy sleep on the futons. I really enjoyed staying here and is definitely a place I would return to stay when visiting the area. I personally enjoyed the vibe/look of the hotel and also enjoyed staying a little bit out of the main area Shibu Onsen & Yudunaka to offer a very relaxing spot.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, taking you to the monkey park and the train station(even when I was just alone) The location is also great. I got breakfast only, nothing to complain about.

The otenticity of the hotel Japanys style , the dinner was ammayzing probably the best we had in Japan , the view , the onsen ,and above all the staff hospitality .

Great location for monkey park. Onsen was good. The cafe/bar served amazing burgers. My kids were in heaven. They love Japanese food, but a week into the trip, they loved having burger and chips. The staff were amazing. They organised shuttles to collect and drop off. They took us to the monkey park. They arranged luggage delivery for us also.
