“Fully immersive and welcoming Homestay and experience”

Top 5 experience of all time spent at this Homestay. They were able to sort a full day safari for us on very short notice before we arrived. We have a new friend in Hansa who was our knowledgeable tour guide and Homestay host. He and the driver had the skills and knowledge to make sure we saw as many animals as possible including a beautiful leopard! (I only have a video of the leopard) Being so close to the entrance and border of Yala allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the wild world we were in. They served unbelievably tasty traditional food throughout our short stay. Rooms were simple and charming. Fan worked well and made sleeping possible in hot conditions.

This is simple accommodation but absolutely perfect and in a lovely setting in the wild.

“A fabulous and unusual experience”

Amazing jungle experience with an attentive host. Great traditional evening meal. Host arranged YALA safari for us by prior arrangement Lovely set up with hammocks, swing, camp fire and farm. Children would love it! Host is a talented drummer.

Thoroughly recommend staying here - the hosts/family were so friendly and welcoming and made our stay for our honeymoon extra special. The food was great, and the remote location (yet close to the national park) meant an authentic jungle stay as an escape from everyday life.

Very nice place close to Yala national park. I stayed one night, and had a tasty lunch and dinner. Lots of food. The host is very friendly. Took me on a motorbike ride to see animals and the ocean. Two nice dogs and cats at the property. The dogs joined me on a walk. Next morning I went on a safari he organized. Much luck. Saw leopard, crocodile, elephants and other animals. Nice experience. Highly recommend.

“A truly incredible homestay experience”

On arrival, we were taken on a walk around the farm and Yala National Park while listening to lots of stories. We even got to pick our own fresh veggies for dinner on the way back. We stayed for 2 nights and dinner and breakfast both days were amazing and amongst our favourite food on our trip. The full day safari that was organised for us came with a fabulous driver and guide and we were lucky enough to see leopard, bear, elephants, buffalos, mongoose and a vast array of birds. After dinner, we loved joining in playing the drums and having lots of laughs. We had the most gorgeous little mud hut which was so cool and comfy, and the grounds are a quiet oasis to relax after a big day on safari. We cannot fault anything about this place as we absolutely loved it.

The host was amazing, kind and attentionate ! He played music for us, took us on a safari by night which was an experience of a lifetime ! We had a great time, the location is perfect and we will have memories for life.

This was our wild card in terms of accommodation in Sri Lanka and it fully paid off. Staying here is so much more than a bed for the night - it’s an experience. The host family could not have been more friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the safari walk and all the food they offered. Super convenient to the main gate of Yala National Park.

The family running the homestay was incredible 🙏So friendly and welcoming. The accomadation was incredible 🙏hand painted pictures on the mud huts. The feeling of being in nature BLISS!! My husband and I had 2 dinners both nights we stayed...omg!! YUM YUM!! Cooked by the family. The dad took us down to the beach to the fishing village to get fresh fish for dinner. My husband and I were guided by the dad for a walk around the lake looking for wildlife🙏 We booked a full day safari with the accomadation.....what an experience we had!!! Incredible It was just my husband the driver and the guide . The guide was the son....his family has held the land bordering the National Park for generations. The son had so much passion for wildlife and experience growing up with Leopard and Elephant encounters at his doorstep. We were taken deep into the park avoiding most Jeeps most of the time. The driver tracked down a Leopard...Elephants...Birds...Mongoose...Deer...Crocodile...Buffalo. The overall experience was not touristy and had a authentic real cultural experience 🙏 I will hold this experience close to my heart ❤️ Thank you🙏

“Much more than we expected, so much love there!”

This place is just incredible. It is made with so much love. Very organized, fantastic atmosphere, very welcoming staff who does everything for you. When we arrived we got a tour in the garden and a nice walk with a small safari! We also picked mushrooms which were prepared for the very rich and delicious diner. In the evening we made music, it was so much fun.The safari itself was amazing; we saw do many animals even the Black Bear and 3 leopards. Hanse was a great guide. We stayed 2 nights, when we left they organized a good transfer and took us to their Temple and explained what we saw. It's incredible all together. We'll never forget this place

This is about as authentic an experience as you can get. Staying about a mile from the official border of the national park Yala, you are in the jungle. Good base to get to Yala early as it's busy. Food was very good in general too, only $7 for a feast

Yala Wild House is an oasis of peace sorrounded by the nature. Delicious breakfast and dinner homemade and super kind family staff. Also, the position is ideal to plan a safari in the adjacent Yala National Park.

This was a very authentic safari experience and a must do to those a little more adventurous. The host was great and greeted us with a refreshing drink on arrival, and a concert in the evening. His son was really nice too and chatted to us during meals. The rooms are simple and clean.

Such a friendly owner and staff - cooked us dinner which was yummy and then played the drums and sang local music with us which was such an amazing experience. The property is set in nature and feels authentic and super close to yala entrance.
