Our 5-night stay at O2 Villas Yala honestly felt less like staying at a hotel and more like being welcomed into a private home by people who genuinely care about your experience. From the moment we arrived, Michael, the manager, made everything feel personal, warm, and effortless. You can really feel that the team takes pride in creating something special here. Every detail was handled with care, and throughout the entire stay we felt looked after in the most natural and thoughtful way. A huge thank you as well to Thilina, Deshan, Suresh, Suraj, Madushanka, Shehan, and Milind — every single one of them was incredibly attentive, kind, and always ready to help with a smile. What stood out most was how genuine everyone was. Nothing felt forced or “hotel scripted.” They remembered our preferences, checked in on us constantly, and made us feel completely relaxed. The villa itself was beautiful — stylish, peaceful, and perfectly designed to blend luxury with nature. The pool overlooking the greenery quickly became one of our favorite spots, especially during sunset after safari days. Everything felt calm, private, and immersive, exactly what you hope for when visiting Yala. One of the most memorable moments of our stay was the romantic dinner under the stars. The setup was beautiful, intimate, and incredibly special. We also absolutely loved the cooking class. It was fun, interactive, and gave us a chance to experience Sri Lankan culture in a more personal way. And the food throughout the stay was exceptional — easily some of the best food we had during our Sri Lanka trip. Every meal felt fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. O2 Yala gave us something very rare in travel today: luxury that still feels deeply human and personal. If you are looking for a peaceful, stylish stay near Yala with truly caring hospitality, this place is very special. We already miss the team and hope to come back again someday.

“Wonderful staff in amazing nature in a modern well equipped villa with pool.”

The villas are beautifully situated and reached by a treetop walkway. They are clean and comfortable and the indoor/outdoor pool was a lovely surprise for our children and very refreshing after a spot of sunbathing. Nature is all around and we had monkeys and chipmunks as regular balcony visitors as well as a resident frog. The best part undoubtedly was the friendliness of the staff. Purdeep, Mike and their teams are a credit to the company and made it one of our favourite stays.

We loved everything about our stay. It was honestly exceptional in every area. Our villa was stunning with every attention to detail. It was really light and spacious and beautifully decorated. The bed felt like floating on a cloud - I slept the best sleep while here - and we stayed in five different hotels while touring around Sri Lanka. Our private pool was also perfect. There are not enough superlatives to fully justify how amazing this place is. We will return one day. Special thanks to the wonderful team of staff who took care of everything for us. Everything about this place was incredible. The villas and rooms are beautifully designed and set in a stunning natural environment that makes the whole stay feel peaceful and luxurious. The location is perfect for visiting Yala and the surroundings are absolutely breathtaking. What truly made the experience special, however, was the staff. Every member of the team was exceptionally kind, welcoming, and attentive. They went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing stay, and their hospitality really stood out.

The staff were impeccable - Pradeep took us on both of our safaris to both Yala and Bundala and couldn't do more to ensure our day was enjoyable, he spotted animals, packed us snacks and drinks and was really fun to spend the day with. Abijaya took us (and the resident dogs and puppies) for a sandune walk and Hiruka looked after us through meals and fed and watered us. And jointly they arranged the most beautiful bonfire bbq seafood and meat dinner for us on our last night. We also loved the new clean 2-bedroom villa with pool with sea views. The hotel is in close proximity to the main parks and has monkeys, squirrels, birds, monitor lizards on site.

The staff and the service we received were fantastic. Special thanks to Telina and Mike for their patience, support, and kindness throughout our stay. We enjoyed a lovely beach safari tour with Telina, who professionally guided us and showed us an incredible sunset view as well as many interesting animals. We celebrated a birthday during our stay, and the staff and the hotel manager arranged an unforgettable bonfire dinner. The memory of this celebration will remain with us for a long time. The room had everything one needs to feel at home, including a stunning view of the lush green nature and the beach. It is a very peaceful place. We enjoyed all the meals, which were well prepared and very tasty. This hotel is a paradise for those who love to wake up to a beautiful sunrise and for those who enjoy sitting on the terrace with a morning coffee while listening to the wonderful sounds of nature waking up.

“A Magical Stay with World-Class Service and Cuisine”

We spent three nights here, and it was an absolute dream. Every single member of the staff was exceptionally warm, welcoming, and helpful. They contributed enormously to our positive experience. We were looked after with great care, and every wish was fulfilled with genuine attentiveness and kindness. The food was spectacular—truly at an outstanding level. We have not eaten better anywhere else. Chef Danushka is a true master of his craft, and every dish reflected his talent and passion. The hotel also provided us with an excellent guide who was extremely knowledgeable about the area and showed us so many beautiful places. The evening beach tour is highly recommended—it was by far the most beautiful beach I have seen in Sri Lanka. Nestled in the middle of the jungle, the hotel offers the unique opportunity to observe wildlife directly from your room. One morning, the hotel organized a safari for us in Yala National Park, which was absolutely breathtaking. We saw an incredible number of animals, and the driver did a fantastic job, ensuring we had the best possible experience and could see as much as possible. Since we did not want to take our eight-month-old daughter on the safari, Dinithi from the Operations Team lovingly took care of her. We were so grateful. She did a wonderful job—our daughter adored her and always lit up with a big smile whenever she saw her. This stay was truly unforgettable, and we cannot recommend this place highly enough.

We spent two absolutely fantastic days and nights at O2 Villa Resort in one of their magnificent tree-top villas. The villas are incredibly beautiful and tastefully decorated, offering a stunning view and a profoundly tranquil, magical atmosphere. A huge thank you to the amazing Amantha, who helped us celebrate a 50th birthday. Everything was perfectly arranged: beautiful room decorations, a cake and an outdoor barbecue. Thanks also to Feddie for the wonderful guidance and stories. Our sunset excursion to the deserted beach was unforgettable—we saw crocodiles and monkeys! The entire team provided the best care. From the chef who prepared incredible food to the staff who arranged a safari tour (including packed meals), we felt genuinely looked after. We highly recommend O2 Villa Resort to anyone seeking something special, delivered with warmth, professionalism, and genuine care. This is a fantastic place with an even more fantastic team.

The canopy with the houses on a higher level gives a nice view of the ocean and the jungle. Staff served a copious breakfast and tried their best to mitigate the numerous problems the property has due to poor execution and finishing.
