This is a amazing, well equipped and beautifully located pension. The food (we had breakfast and evening meal) was some of the best I have eaten in Japan, and the hosts were very helpful and friendly. Nothing to fault.

The house is lovely, with a huge terrace and palm trees facing the sea. Makes you almost feel like you arrived - well, in Hawaii. But it is the hospitality which makes this place truly exceptional. We faced a sudden change of plans and they made a huge effort to help us re-schedule everything, and also recommended us things to do nearby. And, when the bus connections did not quite work out the hosts offered to drive us. 11/10 for the hospitality. The dinner was delicious and served in a lovely setting with some Hawaiian entertainment. We wish we could have stayed longer!

“Best lodge and services ever!!”

Amazing meticulous and friendly services from the owner couple. They are just lovely! The wife cooks amazing dinner and breakfast that are very healthy and tasty. The lodge is situated on the main road but quiet, clean and got everything we needed. Even a proper coffee machine, laundry facilities and a shoe dryer for hikers!! It has the most amazing ocean and mountain views at same time. The accomodation is not far from the famous hot spring house (300yen) and also outdoor natural hot spring right by sea. The owner rented a wrap to cover ourselves for the open sea hot spring. Soaking in the hot water while listening waves and watching sea and noon was priceless.

The view is alsome! The host are nice and friendly. We stay here three days and really enjoyed! There is a supermarket near only 1 minutes drive. And a good restaurant nearby.

Very friendly hosts.

The location is conveniently situated near a public bus stop, only a short one-to-two minute walk away, and a supermarket is within a ten-minute walk. Parking is available for guests arriving by car. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable. A shared kitchen and refrigerator are available for guest use. The food provided by the host was exceptionally good value. Most importantly, the host was incredibly kind and provided outstanding hospitality.

Everything about Luana House was exceptional, hands down our best guest house in our month-long trip to Japan! Our hosts were the warmest, most caring I've ever met and the house just had amazing vibes, along with an incredible deck with sea view. Make sure to book at least a dinner on site, the food is excellent!

“Amazing place to stay in Yakushima”

An amazing place to stay for a vacation in Yakushima. The location is spectacular with a sea view, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The owners of the hotel are charming and help with everything we need, they helped us perfectly in preparing the visit to the island. Highly recommend to anyone traveling to Yakushima to stay at Pension Luana house

“Absolutely outstanding”

Luana House can be accessed by the island bus, a bus stop is located directly in front of the house, and unlimited rides tickets (1, 3 or 4 days) can be purchased at the ports of Miyanoura and Anbo or at the airport for example. All sightseeing spots can be reached by bus, though renting a car is recommended for flexibility. The house is located on the southern coastline of Yakushima. From the terrace, you have a nice view of the ocean, and you can relax in one of the armchairs or hammocks and just enjoy the scenery. I had the western-style bedroom, which featured a sink and mirror in the room. Toilet and shower are shared with the room on the opposite side, and the kitchen is shared with everyone. All areas were nice and clean. The owners were the friendliest and most helpful hosts I ever met. I was offered a ride to some sigthseeing spots or to the town of Onoaida for grocery shopping or dinner. The host even provided some hiking equipment, as I was not prepared for the heavy rain on one of the days. Generally, the service far exceeds what you would expect from a pension. Overall it is one of the most memorable stays I ever had.

The owners were the friendliest people ever! The location is wonderful with a huge terrace overlooking the sea to the one side and the mountains on the other side. The house itself is decorated with so much love and detail - we will definitely come back!

“Amazing”

The rooms are spacious and clean, the deck is amazing. The hosts are really nice and welcoming. They helped us with every problem we encountered (car rental canceled and airplane canceled), and were very lovely.

The hosts were incredibly helpful. I had a whole bunch of wet clothes after a three day hike and they offered to wash my clothes overnight. They also lent me a drier for my soaked hiking boots. The deck was great to watch the sunrise from and relax on in the evening.

The most welcoming and charming hosts one could imagine. Amazing house, amazing food, amazing location. Make sure to book including breakfast and dinner. An unforgettable experience!
