Satomi is the nicest host ever. On my final day, as I drove off early in the morning and watched her waving to me from my rear view mirror, I almost felt like turning back and extending my stay. The people at Tomarigi are also all very kind.

Very kind host, good location, cute cats

This was a fantastic stay. The host is a very nice lady who made you feel like part of the family and really went out of her way to make sure that I had al the information for the walks and public transport in Yakushima. The bed was comfortable and there was a Japanese style bath in the accommodation. Overall this was excellent value and made my stay in Yakushima extremely enjoyable

“Exceptional host”

Absolutely incredible host. She was so lovely and helpful. Unfortunately there was an incoming typhoon and so the host recommended we leave the island as soon as possible to avoid being stuck with ferry cancellations. She was extremely helpful in organising this and even phoned my car rental company to ask about refunds. Despite this being her suggestion, the host went above and beyond and still contacted booking.com to refund us for the extra night we would not be able to stay. Really lovely hostel too, felt very homey and comfortable and enjoyed my brief stay there!

Very authentic and atmospheric place with a tangible rich past. The owner was flexible with modifying the booking and she was friendly. Location is close to bus stop, and you can go on scenic walks from the guesthouse.

Incredibly friendly and homely host!

This is the most delightful, homely place I have stayed in a long time. The atmosphere is lovely, it’s close to the airport as well as the bus stop, and Satomi san is a wonderful host who really makes everyone feel welcome.

The owner is the best person ever. She makes you feel home and will help you get around the island ! My only regret is I didn’t stay longer :)

Felt very homely, was basic but clean, comfortable and right next to the airport. The owner, Satomi さん, was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the stay, helping to plan the best places to go as well as transport and making homemade onigiri for hikes.
