“Lovely traditional Japanese house in great location.”

Traditional Japanese property run by lovely lady. More like a staying at someone’s house than a hotel, so the experience is very different to a conventional hotel where you have your own toilet etc, but everything seems to work just fine. Easy walk to port and bus stop outside house

The vibe is really great and the owner is a granny, super nice one but probably doesn't speak English.

Good location. Cozy Japanese room with tatami beds which we really enjoyed. It felt very welcoming and local.

Location near the port and bus stops helps for early start

Location is very central and everything is clean and tidy.

The beds were extremely comfortable and was located in a great area close to everything.

“Sleep on real futon close to the port”

Real futon, the bathroom and toilets and the kitchen had everything you need and everything was clean. Would recommend if you want to stay close to the port and have a japanese feel. There are a lot of restaurants and two supermarkets nearby.

“Comfy beds in yakushima”

The location was great, right next to the ferry port and the main bus stop. The kitchen was good for cooking and the bedding was so nice and comfortable after many days of hiking. Plus there is free washing machines to use inside the house and even dryers that really work for 100yen

Lovely hostel with traditional rooms and an accomodating host. Good location walking distance from the ferry and access to busses and car rental nearby.

Large tatamis room, even for single occupancy. Simple but comfortable furnishing. The kitchen was small but well-equipped and clean. Two washing machines could be used (but no dryer...). One shower and one shower-bath. There are good restaurants nearby.

We stayed in the "annex", just across the road. Large bedrooms, simply furnished but comfortable. 2 washing machines available and the kitchen is well equipped.

In the center of Miyanoura, next to the bus stop Clean and confortable Not bothered by the noise from the Pachinko, it close at 10pm (11pm on the weekend), 2 windows blocking the noise

Simple guest house in the port town Miyanoura. The room was spacious and a classical japanese Tatami mat room, which was rather frugal. The shared facilities were abundant, so it was not an issue dhat there was no bathroom in the room.
