The rooms, location and cleanliness was top notch. Had a lot of nice restaurants near by. For a secluded place like Yakushima this is ultra convenient

The host was very attentive and welcoming. He gave us tips on what to do on the island, what to look out for and how to best manage our time. He was also always there when we needed help or advice. The best thing, he prepared a hot bath for us when we returned from our hiking trips :) The property itself is well situated in the middle of Miyanoura.

The host was incredibly helpful at so many levels (informations, reservations). It made my trip so much easier. Well located at Miyanoura, close to restaurants and to the visitor center and to the bus station.

The owner asked us for our hiking plans and gave us helpful advice. He suggested good restaurants and the supermarket which was really important of us in this rural area. Although it's shared bathroom, he helped allocated the time well.

“Incredible traditional experience!”

We loved the traditional stay. If you’d like to experience the traditional feel of Japan, it cannot get better than this! We really loved the onsen in the bathroom too, the host would prepare it for us every time we would announce the intention to take a shower. Just a massive and lovely private onsen experience! Everything was well organised, even if to an extreme sometimes. The owner was super helpful, took the time to explain all the rules of the house, and provided very nice restaurant and supermarket recommendations. He even called to book one of the restaurants for us, which was very nice (best sushi we had in our lives btw, just by the end of the same street).

Lot of good advice and suggestions from the staff both regarding hiking as well as local food establishments. Nice people!

the location was very good; close to many amenities: restaurants, a bus stop and supermarket. The laundry facilities, which were very useful since I was drenched after having caught heavy rain, so I had a lot of washing to do.

Japanese-style room (ryokan), rather rough conditions. Good location, not too far from the ferry terminal. There is an onsen available, where you can relax. I definitely appreciate the host's advice on organizing a trip to the cedar forest with a one-day stay with an overnight stay. Very good recommendation from the host for a place to eat dinner. The host recommended Izakaya Ehimo えひも, 8 minutes walk, where we ate especially tasty yakitori, the service was exceptional. Conditions correspond to the price for the room.

“Perfect stay at Yakushima :)”

Very nice ryokan and perfect location : near the ferry port, and at 5min of a bus stop to take you everywhere on the island. The host explained to me everything and helped me organise my stay in Yakushima. He was so nice ! (And the bath was perfect after a day hiking!)

The location is very convenient, right in the heart of Miyanoura. The room is comfortable and quiet.

Our host was very thorough and dedicated and ensured we had all the right logistics pinned down for our hike, bringing us bus timetables and helping us plan based on what we want to see. When we both fell ill with some sort of nasty norovirus he let us extend our checkout time for a small fee, despite the likely inconvenience. We were extremely grateful as we were in no position to start travelling again. Thank you so much!
