“Highly recommended”
Fantastic cabins, that despite being in the jungle, have great facilities and are really clean. Excellent food. We booked a touring Calakmul (Ka'an Expeditions) through the hotel which was well organized. Our guide shared his great knowledge of the Maya culture in absolutely great English. His knowledge was supported by pictures from the book that he brought with him on the excursion.

We loved our little cabin hidden away in the trees, very quiet and comfortable. The staff were mostly very friendly and accommodating. Good restaurant with a wide choice of food including vegetarian options. It feels very connected to nature and made for the ideal base to explore around Calakmul.

“Perfect jungle stay, especially if wanting to visit Calakmul.”
The hotel is right in the jungle. There were keel billed Tucans by the restaurant on our first day. The family that own the hotel are lovely. We booked a touring Calakmul through the hotel which was brilliant.

“Your home from home in the jungle.”
Fantastic cabins, that despite being in the jungle, have great facilities and are really clean. Very comfortable to relax in after a hard day of jungle sightseeing. Conveniently located near the only highway but very secluded as well. Lovely staff that waited for us to arrive after we got caught up in a traffic block and then made us quesadillas :-)

The setup in the jungle was amazing, we were sad to stay only one night! The staff was amazingly nice, helpful and friendly, they made our stay feel like home. We highly recommend this hotel that had charm and a peaceful vibe.

“Friendly stay in basic jungle lodg”
Casa Ka’an offers a very friendly welcome and the staff genuinely try to make you feel at home. The infrastructure and kitchen are basic and somewhat limited, but it’s fine for a one-night stopover. Don’t expect luxury or high-end comfort – this is simplicity in a natural setting.

“Excellent mini house in archaeological corridor”
Each room seems to be a little house, which has bedroom (air conditioned), living room/ dining/kitchen with separate bathroom and porch with chairs/hammock and parking. All clean and lively. Personally didn’t cook but there’s the ability with oils etc available. The food in open air restaurant was really nice - unexpected. Usually we never eat in an hotel but this is some distance from town and we were tired. So it was a bonus that food was good! I didn’t think too expensive either, though I see there are complaints. (Wine was expensive). Our price included breakfast, which was good. We wanted to be in Xpujil to access all sites, not just Calakmul.

“Fantastic!”
We had an amazing time. It was a real surprise after an adventurous drive as the main road was closed. Really good meal and margaritas! Very friendly staff. We only stayed for a night but have easily stayed longer. Authentic and confortable! Highly recommend the stop!
