“I really enjoyed staying at El Castillo and really enjoyed the informational tour.”
It smelled as if there was mold in the closet in the room and in the dining room. I am worried that will destroy the hotel. The history of the hotel is too important to loose it. Please do something about the mold Thank you so much Leo Herod

Beautiful and charming historic place. Very big room and delicious breakfast a la carte. They have a book with some of the history of the place that you can buy. Unfortunately we left in a hurry an forgot to buy it!

Fantastic historic house in the centre of Xilitla with easy access to Edward James garden and Leonora Carrington museum. Excellent breakfast. Excellent resources related to the life Edward James and garden available.

If you are in Xilitla for the surrealism of Edward James and Leonora Carrington, this is the essential Mexican portion of the visit being the creation of Plutarco Gastelum, James's friend and craftsman. An original Carrington graces one of the walls. Guests effectively have the full run of the building, its open spaces and living room preserving the fixtures and contents of the past. I feel privileged to have stayed here. Breakfast is also excellent.
