This hotel is directly opposite the train station and just a short walk into town centre. Very welcoming and friendly reception staff with clear details on all the hotel has to offer. Decent choice at breakfast, self serve buffet but host will make omelette etc. Great undercover secure parking which was ideal for our motorbikes. Assen TT Circuit is less than 30 minutes ride making this a good choice for us attending racing at the circuit.

Great Stay at City Hotel Winschoten! We had a very pleasant experience staying at City Hotel Winschoten. The location is perfect — right in the heart of town, just a short walk from the train station, shops, and restaurants. It’s a convenient base whether you’re visiting for business or exploring the area. The room was clean, quiet, and well-organized, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was cozy, and the Wi-Fi connection was fast and reliable, which was a big plus. What stood out most was the warm and friendly service. The staff were welcoming and always ready to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was simple but fresh, with enough variety to start the day well. Overall, City Hotel Winschoten offers great value and comfort. We would definitely stay here again!

Hotel has a cosy atmosphere. Breakfast is perfectly arranged, they ask everyone personally if you want a baked egg/bacon combination (or just baked eggs). Furthermore: enough sockets available to charge your mobile telephone, tablet or other stuff (much better than in an average hotel). Friendly personnel! 👍

The hotel room was large and spotlessly clean. Good sized bathroom with a bathtub also. I really liked that there were so many plug points in the room to charge our devices. Also the refrigerator and safe were a bonus.

Great location near town centre, and across road from train station, as well as great takeaway shop next door!! Staff were extremely helpful and courteous . Have stayed here a number of times, and feels like home-away from home!
