Whose socks did they not clean? The chair was so dirty that I couldn't sit on it, and the bathtub was so dirty with mold that I couldn't wash it.

The staff lied and advised me that I booked a smoking room instead of a non-smoking room. He proceeded to inform me that a non-smoking room was available with 2 double beds but it would considered an upgrade. I told the staff I can not be exposed to any smoke and that they would responsible if I became ill. They then handed me the keys without informing whether it was a smoking or non smoking room. Booking.com staff later confirmed that I did in fact book a non-smoking room. I believe this was a scam for the motel to charge an upgrade fee. Additionally, upon entering the room part of the screen door fell, which the staff had to fix. Lastly, the toilets in the hotel are very small compared to what other facilities offer, the water pressure is also low and the toilets can not handle multiple flushes. Our toilet was plugged and staff came in with a plunger but did not know how to fix it. My son had the fix the clogged toilet. The staff did not apologize in any way. All they could offer was ro call the owner to fix the problem. The staff appeared to be young students that were probably given free lodging in exchange for work. I didn't expect a five star of course, but I didn't expect a nightmare experience neither. Overall, the motel was poorly maintained, there were stains on the sheet, dirty table, electrical outlets out of service and very poor service. I made sure to contact booking.com and forward pictures of evidence so that I would be protected and to share my dreadful experience.
