Our stay was excellent. The staff was so helpful and made our stay really great. The owner upgraded our room and it was beautiful. The meals were plentiful and very good. Our full day safari was exciting, we really enjoyed our entire stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the Ceylon Resort. Roshan and his family gave us a warm welcome and did everything in their power to make our stay rememberable. We highly recommend to do the full day safari which was perfectly organised by the hotel. The tour guide (Nici) was the sweetest person and made the safari even better. The hotel is very clean and the food (breakfast and dinner) is fabulous. 10/10

We had a wonderful stay at Ceylon Resort Wilpattu. A very large room, super clean, and a great view from the roof terrace! The food is beyond great and the hosts are simply wonderful and helpful. We'd love to come back!

Everything, a lovely family who are very hard working with a mission to give everyone a great stay. Roshan was very good at arranging transport for us, the full day and night safaries and a visit to Anuradhapura. Our room was upgraded and my husband was having a big birthday while there, which the hotel helped in celebrating with cake and decorations. Thankyou so much

The staff, the food and the scenery

The perfect choice if you want to do a safari in Wilpattu! The resort is modern and clean, situated a few minutes from the national park, in a peaceful area, close to nature. The family that runs the resort and all the staff are amazing, very friendly and welcoming, they make sure that your stay is perfect. They can help organise transport to/from the resort, and of course organise a safari for you. The safari they organised for us - for a reasonable price - was the experience of a lifetime. Of course it is down to luck which animals you can see, but we had very experienced spotters who pointed out even the most hidden animals we would have never noticed and were also very attentive to our requests (when to take breaks, etc.). The resort also offered a great culinary experience: you are treated to a tasty sri lankan, home-cooked buffet breakfast each day and can opt for a buffet dinner too, which has an amazingly wide selection of home-cooked dishes as well.

Our room was very comfortable. Meals were served as a buffet with authentic Sri Lankan dishes at evening meals, for the safari (full day) plus a Sri Lankan breakfast. Bring an appetite with you. The host Roshan has a big heart and wants guests to enjoy themselves.

We had a fantastic stay with a super warm welcome. Our room was spacious, very clean, and equipped with everything we needed, with an excellent bathroom, great shower, and huge, comfortable beds. Dinner was amazing, with a buffet offering various local dishes to try. We did the Wilpattu National Park safari and were lucky to see a leopard up close and two sloth bears, along with many other animals. Arranging transportation to our next destination was also very easy.

Very well placed for Wilpattu national park, they arranged a shared day safari for us which was excellent, breakfast and lunch was provided, the guide and driver were very good. Dinner was a good Sri Lankan buffet and we enjoyed the social aspect of eating with other guests. The host and his wife were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed for two nights and had a great experience overall. Dylan, the owner, was very friendly and arranged a full package including safari, accommodation and food. The safari was well organised and ran smoothly. While the package cost slightly more than what was advertised in the Booking.com pictures, it was still one of the more affordable options we found. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed - we especially enjoyed the minibar - and we loved the views over the paddy fields. The highlight of the stay was definitely the dinner: the food was excellent, and we really enjoyed sitting and dining together with other guests. The area itself doesn’t have much to do apart from the safari, but this is the same for all accommodation in the area. Overall, a very welcoming and enjoyable stay- would definitely recommend.

Amazing welcome and food. Really good views across the jungle from the new building. Local walk great for birdwatching (bring binoculars). Excellent buffet dinner with introduction to Sri Lankan food. Run by a family who were so helpful and lovely. Night and daytime safari easily organised by the hosts. Also transfers and generally anything you needed.

“Nice stay but a little disappointing”

We were kindly upgraded to a room in the new block, which was very comfortable and with a great view. Watching the various of species of birds from the balcony was a delight. The evening buffet was very well prepared and tasty. The breakfast was not of the same standard unfortunately.

This was absolutely one of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka. The staff was amazing, Roshan was the best and organized everyhting so well for us. We got one of the newest rooms there and it was just amazing. And of course the safari that they organized; the food and the whole experince was so good! I would defenately go again there and if you are planning to do the safari this is just a perfect place to stay and they will take care of the rest!
