We had the most wonderful stay at Ceylon Resort. Roshan and his family have created a little slice of heaven in the jungle.   He has recently built an extension with beautiful, large rooms. Ours had a balcony on two sides so we could look at the views across the jungle. On the roof there was a terrace where you can watch the birds, sunset or the stars above the treeline.  Downstairs there's a lovely outdoor covered area for sitting and talking, playing games etc. we used this a few times and talked to other  guests.  We absolutely loved the dining area and garden, with paths and lots of beautiful palms and fruit trees.  The dining area is open at the sides with vines making one wall, and we had some incredible food! It was absolutely delicious. Roshan and his family were so hospitable and kind and happy to explain what we were eating and talking about the different fruits and vegetables.  We'd looked at full day safari tours, but Roshan organised the whole thing for us with driver, guide and park fees included at a very competitive price. He included lots of water and other drinks and a picnic breakfast and lunch which was more than we could eat , but again,  absolutely delicious. He also has a tuk tuk and motorbike if needed and arranged a taxi for us.  It's a beautiful hotel run by beautiful people and we will definitely be back to stay again.

Roshan and the staff were all so helpful and welcoming, the dinner service is excellent and organising the safari with the hotel was the best idea. The stay was faultless.

“Fantastic stay in the beautiful Sri Lankan jungle”

Beautifully located in the Sri Lankan jungle, the surroundings were stunning with Wilpattu national park only a short drive away. Food was incredible and plentiful. Roshan and his family were extremely helpful and very welcoming. He was even kind enough to upgrade our room free of charge on our arrival.

“Absolutely excellent experience from start to finish”

the location, the surrounding views, the layout and design of the resort and the rooms were all amazing!! The owners and family were super welcoming and accommodating, they went above and beyond to make sure my stay was the best it could be. The food was exceptional, the owners wife is a brilliant cook. I had a wonderful time on the full day safari, which was organised by the owner (his niece Nikki is a brilliant spotter/safari guide, very lovely and knowledgeable of the animals). I cannot recommend Ceylon Resort enough, it was without a doubt my favourite place I stayed throughout my month travelling around Sri Lanka!

Location perfect for visit to wilpattu. Lovely evening food.

You have to stay here! We couldn’t have asked for a better start to our holiday in Sri Lanka. The hospitality, the rooms and THE FOOD. Unreal. You might have to go to Wilpattu just to eat here.

“Thank you for the wonderful stay”

The owner was so kind and upgraded our room as there was one available. I loved having a home cooked meal each night. The banana bread was so delicious. The family are always around if you need anything. Very close to the national park. Room was brand new with a lovely big balcony with chairs. The beds were very comfy.

“Unforgettable”

My husband and I came on our honeymoon and had the most amazing time. The safari organisation was so easy, we had our own jeep and a great driver. We got picked up, taken to the park about 10 mins away, had breakfast and lunch provided to us and saw lots of animals. On our second day of safari we sat eating our breakfast watching a leopard!! What more could you want. The Ceylon contacted us before we arrived to organise the safari and it worked like clockwork. The room was very clean and spacious, the food was EXCELLENT! We had to get the recipe for one of the curries from the buffet (highly recommend having that, very authentic buffet). Roshan was the most amazing and hilarious host making us feel very welcome and entertaining. He was very happy to help with anything we asked. You can tell they have put a lot of effort And money into making the place nice, and also safe (elephants etc). Amazing chilled vibes and nice other guests to chat to about your day on safari. “Wonderful stay near Wilpattu”

Stayed here for one night and did safari arranged by the host the day after. Host was super friendly and helped us with arranging transport to get there and go to next stay. Safari was well arranged. Food was amazing, definitely recommend taking the buffet dinner. Best food we had in Sri Lanka so far. At this moment they were busy building a new building with extra rooms.

We had a wonderful stay here! The owner was very kined and involved with the wellbeing of the guests, and we got a free upgrade to a much bigger and luxurious room, which was very nice. The location is perfect, very close to Wilpattu national park. The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful, with lush nature covering the whole area. The owner helped us with organizing the Wilpattu jeep safari, which was a great experience. The food was amazing, both for breakfast and dinner. The stay overall was great, and would definitely recommend to go here, especially if you're interested in doing a safari in Wilpattu national park.

“The resort with the personal touch”

Roshan, Madu and their family were beautiful hosts. The home cooked food was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. This was a truly memorable place to stay. Roshan went the extra mile for everything. Our safari was organised for us and the food on the day was delicious and bountiful. Our every need was met and more. I highly recommend Ceylon Resort for your stay and safari in Wilpattu.

The staff were all super friendly and wonderful and the room was very clean with a beautiful bathroom with a great shower. The safari organised by the hotel was great with delicious food provided. The dinner provided was a fantastic Sri Lankan buffet with many tasty local dishes prepared and presented by our host. The location is very close to the national park so does not take long to get there with the safari tour. The rooms are well sealed with an air con and we didn't have any bugs or mosquitoes get into our room which was fantastic. We also got a free room upgrade with thr accomodation having an available room which was appreciated greatly.

We highly suggest this place - the family and the staff were very kind and keen on catering for all our needs, including organising a full-day private safari to Wilpattu and a private transportation to Anuradhapura (with the driver accompanying us to all sites we wanted). The food is very traditional and delicious. We also got an upgrade of our room for free (to a way larger one). The transparency, contagious passion and honesty of the owner were also very much appreciated. The vibe of this place is very family-like and the location is perfect to visit the area. 10/10

“Exceptional small family hotel near Wilpattu National Park.”

A very lovely small hotel on the outskirts of Wilpattu National Park. Beautiful rooms with excellent stylish design from local stone. Confortable beds and abundant hot water. Wonderful delicious meals with lots of choice. The owners and staff are very friendly and kind and can arrange all excusions and onwards transport that you need. They go the extra yard to ensure guests have what they need and to alert them to local sights they they may have missed. I really could have stayed much longer.

Exceptional!! A beautiful property with all the details for a comfortable stay thoughtfully considered. Roshan is going for a high quality memorable experience for his guests and definitely achieves it. We received generous room upgrades and the rooms were beautifully designed and appointed, very clean and extremely comfortable. The safari was great fun and expertly arranged and delivered. Best of all the food was incredible, so delicious. The warm and friendly Ceylon Resort staff, Roshan and his family made our stay a very welcoming, happy and memorable one. We loved everything - from the pick up at the airport until the fairwell - Roshan and his family and staff went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. For the safari he arranged for an amazing driver Hansa and the sweetest guide Nicky and we ended up having a Leopard walkind alone beside our jeep - incredible. The location was wonderful and close to national park. The staff were amazing, from picking us up at the airport to arranging the safari with a beautiful breakfast and lunch to take with us. The staff were always in contact with us to keep us updated and informed of any changes and to give us great local information about Sri Lanka. The property was very peaceful and relaxing with a lovely 15 min walk to a nearby lake. The food was amazing with an explanation of each dish that was prepared. Would definitely stay here again!!!

“Beautiful family run business, passionate about their guests.”

This is a wonderfully run family owned business. Roshan is very responsive and passionate about ensuring his guests not only have an enjoyable stay at Ceylon Resort, but an enjoyable holiday in Sri Lanka. They were incredibly accommodating and always willing to help where they could. Roshan provided our transfer from Negombo to Ceylon Villa, organised our safari in Wilpattu Park with an excellent driver & guide, and even provided our ongoing transfer. The villa and the rooms are spacious and immaculate, the whole facility is so picturesque. The new 3 storey facility under construction will be a showpiece when it is finished. I’m not sure what we enjoyed more; the Safari or the banquet of traditional Sri Lankan dishes the night before. We were hugged on arrival and departure and felt like we were staying with a family villa that was proud of their beautiful country and passionate about their guests, not just a place to stay. If a Wilpattu safari is on your agenda I would highly recommend staying here.
